They brag about being top heavy with women employees. With this comes workplace discrimination. On one of my first days I was asked about my religion, my age, my political affiliation, my relationship status and all that goes with that. Since then every day has be toxic and unfriendly.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Cliquey, bigoted, gossipy behaviors undermine a team. Management should be aware of this kind of behavior and strive to create an atmosphere on exclusivity and not exclusivity. They have not.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Exclusivity would be good. Providing feedback on job performance and not just snide backhanded remarks. The General manager was capricious about returning emails and or text messages. Bigots should not be welcome.
What would you improve about your company's interview process?
I was hired by a staff member before a GM was assigned. Do not misrepresent the work or the culture. When someone is hired they should be introduced and mentored to see if they are being welcomed or not.
