Caterpillar Inc. Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Culture is fine - matches my area

Extremely nice co-workers, Midwest charm, and little to no political rhetoric being forced into the workplace.

The inclusion and the teamwork

the more you learn the better chance to move up

Ogi drives the team to focus on the critical goals and helps you feel part of the equation.

Very flexible in terms of when and where you work.

Review from Engineering Dept

Caterpillar does a good job of promoting high performers within the company.

caterpillar has a lot of resources

Safety Awareness and toolbox talks

Work like balance and flexibility and customer focus

Seldom are open or honest about what goes wrong or needs improving

Mid-western nice. Everyone wants to help. Team spirit with little undercurrent of competitiveness that I've felt at other companies.

Review from HR Dept

Checks and balances in place to produce quality products

Friendly, appreciative and inclusive culture. Flexible working policy.

The people are family there.

Review from Product Dept

we can typically get along

Review from Operations Dept

It is mostly a positive environment at work

Review from Product Dept

Everyone is treated equally and compensated fairly

Review from IT Dept

Different variety of customers and culture.

Review from Product Dept

They want to see everyone succeed

Review from Product Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Increased wages to improve work life balance, better and clearer explination of upper managements expectations for all production workers.

Leadership needs to open their ears and take suggestions from people that are of lesser rank than them.

Your management there insurance Texas is committing fraud

Listen to the works who are on the floor and see the problem daily

Find ways to reduce over time. 10 hrs/ day at least and Saturdays was not very sustainable

Review from Operations Dept

Favourism is to be avoided & hard work to be Considered.

Culture varies amongst groups, management styles and expectations.

Let people do what they are good at. Mgmt and especially HR interfere a lot. VERY liberal HR that takes sides and treats people differently dependent on who it is.

To improve the culture I would recommend eliminating the politics, ensure a clear chain of command that's drives a sense of empowerment within teams and hire more outside talent to drive company growth.

Operation capacity and locations availability to labor needs to be taken into consideration. Currently the work load of facilities is well above ohysical and labor availability

Take a good hard look at your middle management. They will make or break the culture.

Stop discriminating against lgbt, communicate better

Review from Operations Dept

Executive office change would make this company work better.

Review from Engineering Dept

Management to do its job and treat their workers fairly

Overall it is good; starting to focus more on safety as it seems like daily individuals are getting injured on the job.

Actually putting their money where there mouth is. They constantly preach about how safety is the number one priority. Yet their actions show that velocity, cost, and quality are always put in front.

Review from Product Dept

The executive team, need to lead by example show thoughtful and caring leadership and be a team. They are not a team.

Review from Legal Dept

Get someone else run the parts department

Review from Operations Dept

Management we only have one good one out of about 5

Review from Engineering Dept

Management should stop making changes that effect associates without having focus group meetings for feedback. Focus groups and one on one meeting are not happening any longer. RIW’s not happening any longer at Waco DC
