I mostly enjoy what I do and the ways I've grown and the things I've learned in this role. My previous manager was encouraging of growth and work/life balance but my current manager is not. I would want to continue working here if I had a different manager and felt that I was being paid fairly.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team has been remote the whole time I've worked with them and there is still such a sense of comradery. When we're busy, everyone is trying to help where and how they can.
What makes you most happy at work?
I like getting to interact with my coworkers and the feeling of accomplishment when I complete tasks. I also like identifying aspects of our processes that can be improved and contributing to the betterment of our team as a whole.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I'm a contract employee and my responsibilities have expanded since I started. I asked for a cost of living adjustment when my contract was being extended which was denied. I don't get PTO, paid holidays, 401K benefits or sick days. My role is integral to my team but I do not feel valued as a human.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
My VP is very caring and knows how to motivate our team. He looks at the big picture and sets goals which helps my team be able to focus on the details of implementing those goals. I like that there is a great sense of collaboration and that each person's strengths contribute to the team as whole.
