How flexible is your work schedule at ExxonMobil?
Pretty flexible. I work both shifts and all positions and when I need/want a day off or to work a certain shift, they are pretty good at being able to accommodate that.
How often do promotions happen at ExxonMobil?
Typically people at my location don't necessarily get a promotion such as a new job title, but we do recieve pay raises when earned and we are complimented and recognized for our dedication and hard work.
What was the most difficult question that was asked during your interview at ExxonMobil?
If i was willing to work any and all shifts and work as both a cashier and cook.

What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining ExxonMobil?
That when you volunteer to help in every position in the business, they will never not expect you to be able to fill any position.

Well my location offers occasional pay raises and typically a yearly end of the year cash bonus. Also they are willing to give out advances if needed.

I heard back on the same day.
How's the work pace at ExxonMobil?
Majority of the time we stay at a constant/steady pace throughout the workday. In the coldest winter months we do have a decline in business/sales due to the weather. But that being said, in the spring and summer months we are booming with business!
Does ExxonMobil drug test or do a background check?
Yes. They do. They do those things before or right after you are hired. And of course if there were to be an accident of any kind while on the job, i believe that would be cause for a drug test if needed.
How much diversity is there among employees at ExxonMobil?
Well in general, a lot! We are such a wide spread and globally known company that bc we have so many facilities in so many locations, we have tons of diversity. However, at my specific location we have many different age ranges, from 17-83, as well as a mixture of male and female employees. We also have full time and part time people. I think the category of diversity that we have the least of is a mixture of different races and/or ethnicity.
How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at ExxonMobil?
It was enjoyable. It felt professional yet relaxed. We were able to talk about work related topics, rate of pay, job duties and responsibilities, hours, expectations, etc. As well as topics in our personal lives, family, hobbies, where and how long we've all lived in our town.. Etc.
What's the best part of your job at ExxonMobil?
Working with people i love and getting to know the customers and filling their needs. Just being appreciated and needed and like you are constantly progressing and advancing in your position.
How can I improve my chances of being hired at ExxonMobil?
I would say just be yourself. Be honest about your goals and home life. Be willing to learn new things such as job duties, roles in the workplace, new sets of skills, etc.
What is the daily attire at ExxonMobil?
At my location we are to wear either black or khaki pants/leggings/capris with one of 3 Exxon t-shirts which we are given at the time of hire. Closed toed shoes and hair pulled up/back if working in the kitchen.
What is the onboarding process like at ExxonMobil and how long does it last?
I filled out my application, got a call back, did my interview, and was offered the position, and started my first day of work all within 4 days!
What are the most important soft skills to be successful at ExxonMobil?
Again, patience. Humility, empathy, good work ethic, a positive attitude, leadership, etc.
How are the healthcare options at ExxonMobil?
I believe that they offer healthcare benefits but i currently do not know what they are specifically, nor do i need them at this point.
Is it possible to switch teams at ExxonMobil? If so, what is the process?
I believe so. You would have to go through the process with speaking to your boss about your decision, then reach out to the new location you were interested in and work out the details. And of course there would be paperwork and scheduling to do as well.

My specific store does not offer PTO at this time.
What are the most important soft skills I need to be successful at ExxonMobil?
Definitely patients. And humility. And empathy. You need to be able to relate to your customers and coworkers. And to be able to handle stressful situations.

I would go dressy casual. So not in a suit or fancy dress, but maybe dress pants and a nice shirt, or leggings and dressy top. .
