Fastenal Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Reasonable pay, benefits could be better

The company match and company Stock options

I wasnt there lonh enough for a compensation package to effect ne.

Review from Sales Dept

Not able to say, no input.

Commission based so you get what you earn

I know that my family and financial future are secure.

Being paid fairly is the most important thing.

401k match as well as dental

Bonus pay every 2 weeks

The vacation time is great

Medical insurance plan is great, while a little pricey, there is great coverage, few denials, and no required referrals to specialist. Paid time off is fair and you earn more overtime with the company. Provide everyone with a small life insurance package at no cost, enough to cover basic cost.

Its decent but nothing amazing. Good enough for the average bloke.

You have the ability to grow your sales to grow your pay,but your full pay is not strictly commissions you have a minimum you will always have then can grow infinitely over it. the power is in your hands.

Review from Sales Dept

Paid vacation and sick days. Good health and dental insurance

Salary employee. Age 24. Decent pay. Great company. Lots of opportunities. This company will promote you VERY fast with your ability to seek out internal employment opportunities combined with a qualified individual who is willing to relocate.

a nice amount of vacation time

Review from Operations Dept

I have low expectations, so I don't really know what is fair. I can pay my bills and live comfortably, so that's how I judge.

Review from Operations Dept

Free clinic visits that are on site.

Review from Operations Dept

I am still part time so I do not receive benefits yet

Review from Sales Dept

Too little pay for the work expected of employees

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Getting payed a fair amount for the work i do

That people get paid what they're worth. People shouldn't get paid close to the same, and have to do half as much as work. They show favorism, and dont hold the same stanards for everyone

Review from Operations Dept

no raises in two year

Review from Sales Dept

I feel that fastenal thinks anyone and everyone is replaceable so even when great workers leave they make no changes to keep the next great employee.

Pay is not equitable, salary or bonus. Some are not paid for the hard work they put in while others are over paid and putting in little to no effort, given favorable roles, larger salaries, or better bonus calculators.

Review from Sales Dept

Yeah they don't value my hard work i put into the company for 3 years

Review from Sales Dept

If I was paid more fairly including bi annually or annually raises. Also, if there was better benefits offered that alone could make up for the lower pay.

We are required to work 50 hours to only get paid for 40. Its been a years and a half and ive hit or surpassed every one of my metrics and i have not got any sort of raise or anything. Only get two weeks off but when you try and take it they say you're a manager you cant take off. Thats BS

The Minimum wage of 15/hr

Yes. Undervalued. More recognition both comensation wise and thought better communication

I look at it as a piece of fruit. Your just about to grab the fruit, then they move it. You are about to reach for it again and it gets moved. Again. Changing pay scale all the time. Cut accounts to make it look like your "saving time" but your just giving up sales.

If I made as much this year as I had in previous years. Everytime I do better. Something changes so that I make less the following year.

Annual raises. More feedback on performance. More paid time off

Review from Operations Dept

Better Health insurance, programs to better employees outside of work. Financial planning, health, bonuses

Pay is laughable. I'm doing way more than just "sales associate" duties.

Pay according to work performed

Pay should be less bonus based

Review from Operations Dept

Required work is not disclosed, and required hours are well above 40/week. This is not well known in the hiring process

Review from Sales Dept

Compensation schedules change regularly. It is impossible to gauge possible future earnings.

Review from Sales Dept

No raises for FT in years
