Golden Hippo Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

The executive always makes sure they're open to feedback from every level of the company. This feedback is often public, meaning the executive team has very visible accountability and action.

Review from Marketing Dept

They're truly very kind individuals who care about the company's success.

Review from Product Dept

The focus they put on transparency and treating their employees well with great benefits and other programs.

Review from Legal Dept

The transparency and openness of communication

Review from Marketing Dept

I like how my immediate leadership team genuinely cares about our concerns that affect us and fight to ensure we are heard.

Review from Operations Dept

Their mission is clear and makes sense for the growth of the company

Review from Operations Dept

The transparency we receive as employees makes me feel respected and valued as an employee and allows me to trust the company I'm working for and work harder because I have clear goals.

Review from Marketing Dept

The transparency - even if I don't agree with a decision I understand why it was made and why it is in the best interest of the company. The weekly stand up is very open and everyone does their best to answer questions as openly as possible.

Review from Sales Dept

The attentiveness to the team and feedback

Review from Operations Dept

Great transparency, and I enjoy the townhall meetings

Review from Legal Dept

Everyone is very easy to talk to, and open to help when needed

Review from Marketing Dept

Employees are given a decent amount of autonomy and a voice in the company.

Overall, Golden Hippo’s leadership stands out for its clarity in setting goals and expectation

The leadership team leads with confidence while fostering a culture of creativity, growth, and social harmony within the company.

Review from Marketing Dept

Every conversation is constructive, but they never forget you're a person first.

Review from Admin Dept

They take a genuine interest in what the best direction is for the organization and is transparent about results and achievements.

open comms every week primarily from teams doing the work

Review from Marketing Dept

The town halls give me a good feeling about our CEO and the company's direction, I like that Mark puts these up and devotes an hour a week to the employees on a leveled field. This is very important for morale and I often find other teammates speaking about the transparency that he gives.

Review from IT Dept

I like that they continue to keep our focus on generating revenue rather than just having well known brands. It makes me feel secure that our eyes are always on making money and keeping our jobs.

Review from Marketing Dept

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Listening to the people and others within our organization, specifically in my department. Our attrition is atrociously high and its been like this before and since I started 2 years ago. There is a factor in that but that factor hasn't been mitigated or resolved in a manner to benefit the company

Review from Finance Dept

Strategic planning, updating marketing strategies, communication & transparency.

Review from HR Dept

This company is a catfish in every way. They reel you in with a stocked kitchen, health benefits, and company outings. After working there you realize you're being EXTREMELY underpaid, there's not much room for growth, and your director doesn't always have knowledge in the department they're directi

Review from Marketing Dept

Caring about employee's growth and properly compensating them for their work. Meditation is cool and all, but it doesn't pay the bills.

Review from Marketing Dept

Reading the room. There have been many instances where employee concerns were simply brushed off and ignored. They were also slow to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and the BLM movement.

Review from Marketing Dept

Evaluate management staff and begin to have manager trainings. Having a clear on how to move up within the company and have clear expectations of what each dept or position can reach as pay is concerned.

Review from Marketing Dept

This company is growing quickly and is quite progressive. I feel some of the women at the company don't feel they are supported, appreciated or like there is room for them to grow at the company. I think leadership could make an effort to change that.

Review from Marketing Dept

Leaning toward more clear communication, alongside more positive feedback.

Review from Finance Dept

Improve coordination of teams so that all relevant parties have access to needed information. Include teams from Utah and Remote workers in the same kinds of fun incentives that the CA receive. Even though there is no way for it to be the same, there should not be a huge disparity in concessions

Review from Finance Dept

There are a handful of leaders that are great at this company because they are experienced and able to handle a team professionally. Others are not so much. They can be toxic, harmful, and dangerous. HR tends to side with these toxic people.

Review from Marketing Dept

organizing, structure, process, correcting irate behavior,

Review from Marketing Dept

I feel like our weakest team is HR, which isn't ideal - it's unusual to feel like HR is really listening to employees feedback.

Review from Communications Dept

Cohesive organization of word production. Better communication between departments.

Review from Marketing Dept

Being less of a bottleneck/more of an issue of not enough managers to go around to give enough attention to problems/new hires
