The executive always makes sure they're open to feedback from every level of the company. This feedback is often public, meaning the executive team has very visible accountability and action.
Review from Marketing Dept
They're truly very kind individuals who care about the company's success.
Review from Product Dept
The focus they put on transparency and treating their employees well with great benefits and other programs.
Review from Legal Dept
The transparency and openness of communication
Review from Marketing Dept
I like how my immediate leadership team genuinely cares about our concerns that affect us and fight to ensure we are heard.
Review from Operations Dept
Listening to the people and others within our organization, specifically in my department. Our attrition is atrociously high and its been like this before and since I started 2 years ago. There is a factor in that but that factor hasn't been mitigated or resolved in a manner to benefit the company
Review from Finance Dept
Strategic planning, updating marketing strategies, communication & transparency.
Review from HR Dept
This company is a catfish in every way. They reel you in with a stocked kitchen, health benefits, and company outings. After working there you realize you're being EXTREMELY underpaid, there's not much room for growth, and your director doesn't always have knowledge in the department they're directi
Review from Marketing Dept
Caring about employee's growth and properly compensating them for their work. Meditation is cool and all, but it doesn't pay the bills.
Review from Marketing Dept
Reading the room. There have been many instances where employee concerns were simply brushed off and ignored. They were also slow to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and the BLM movement.
Review from Marketing Dept
On top of my financial compensation, we have really good health insurance and dental that are covered by the company. This has helped me save tons of money on medical bills, without lowering my take home pay.
Review from Marketing Dept
Free health care and dental, and the ability to buy up in the dental plan to add special services. The opportunity to participate in a ESOP is awesome.
Review from Product Dept
Hands down the health insurance plan.
Review from Legal Dept
Financial compensation; base salary and bonuses, health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and flexible work schedule.
Review from Operations Dept
Golden Hippo does a good job with benefits and fair pay. I've never had any issues with the compensation process and I think the company offers some benefits that other companies do not. The health care plan for individuals and families in particular is very good.
Review from Sales Dept
Similar positions are compensated more and benefits don't make up enough for the difference
Review from Marketing Dept
I think compensation hasn't caught up with the current economic climate at all. I am currently working the same job (with more experience) and making less than I made at my full time job 3 years ago.
Review from Marketing Dept
Golden Hippo has a lot of great perks and benefits, but it feels as though these are done to make up for our base salary being so uncompetitive. I would much prefer a higher salary over so many company events and perks.
Review from Marketing Dept
market rates not adjusted often. have to wear multiple hats and not compensated accordingly.
Review from Marketing Dept
A compensation reflective of the effort/hours I work would improve my feeling about our company. We function with a skeleton crew and I often find myself working 20-40% more time than Im supposed to. For context, my compensation level is roughly around 100% of market.
Review from IT Dept
The Golden Hippo team is full of people who genuinely show up to work ready to get the best results. It's a very collaborative space where people care about each other and the work that we do.
Review from Marketing Dept
Everyone is kind, motivated, and collaborative. I feel comfortable reaching out to others.
Review from Legal Dept
We're all very connected, on the same page and go out of our way for each other no matter the project
Review from Marketing Dept
Tightly knit team allows us to be comfortable with each other.
Review from Operations Dept
Open and honest communication, shared values, strong collaboration and camaraderie, respect and trust.
Review from Operations Dept
Coworkers need to overcome the fear of the company becoming more "corporate", which people say a lot whenever a suggestion for defined processes and more efficient workflows are suggested. Complaints that so many people are involved in a process when that's often the most efficient way in the end.
Review from Product Dept
Maybe a little more training for newer employees
Review from Marketing Dept
It's more of a reflection of me. They are all, smart, talented, supportive, and hard working but I just prefer to work on my own.
Review from Product Dept
Again, leadership is everything. Without experienced and properly trained leaders, our co workers become disgruntled and can be toxic.
Review from Marketing Dept
Organization of process of new brands
Review from Customer Support Dept
Having a manager that really cares about me and my development is the most positive part of the culture. I never feel like my manager has an ulterior motive; she always has my best interest at heart.
Review from Marketing Dept
The office environment is laid back even if the pace of the work is quick. Also, with a good manager, there are opportunities for career growth.
Review from Product Dept
It feels like everyone is motivated to meet our collective goals so that we all win.
Review from Legal Dept
It feels like leadership genuinely cares about all of us as individuals
Review from Marketing Dept
Team leadership holds everyone to same standards.
Review from Operations Dept
Need management take accountability. As the company grow we need management with more experience so they can lead the team more efficiently.
Review from Admin Dept
The company needs to spend money on professional tools to do our job. We're often provided with cheap, non industry standard gear. It lowers morale and worse creates wore work and frustration than if we had just been given professional tools to begin with.
Review from Marketing Dept
common goals, clear direction, long term goals, transparency, not masking red flags with new perks or events
Review from Marketing Dept
More management across the board.
Review from Communications Dept
It was relaxed and to the point. No real gotcha questions. A heavy lean on culture.
Review from Sales Dept
I had one phone screen and one hiring manager interview. They were scheduled quickly and I felt that my time was valued.
Review from HR Dept
Very thorough. No Bias. They really want somebody who is ready to drink water out of a firehose as the company is in aggressive growth mode.
Review from Operations Dept
The recruiting team took great care of me, regularly kept me updated about the process, was responsive, and kind.
Review from Operations Dept
More of a conversation than an interview.

I enjoy the work that I do, and I like having success at work. Watching my team and I perform well is really rewarding.
Review from Marketing Dept
I enjoy the work I do and am so grateful to be a part of a company that has great benefits and bonus programs that keep us all motivated.
Review from Legal Dept
Freedom for creative expression and opportunity to learn new things and grow
Review from Marketing Dept
How my contributions impact the success of others and the company.
Review from Operations Dept
My coworkers are just so supportive and friendly and outgoing. Support facilitates creativity and collaboration. All good stuff.
Review from Marketing Dept
It's not exciting to show up to work when leadership is change-resistant. They hire qualified people and hinder them from implementing changes that would bring the company success because "that's not how we do it here" or "that's already been tried and doesn't work". Allow people to try things again
Review from Product Dept
Upper management is a mess. People that barely have experience are constantly getting promoted, while those that actually do the heavy lifting get taken advantage of. The best way to improve it is either they hire more reliable managers and executives or if the employee just quits.
Review from Design Dept
Our sales tactics are old school and the majority of our budget only goes to the media buyers. Our target demo is mainly baby boomers and if this company wants to last they need to be up to date.
Review from Marketing Dept
Need to hire more people that know how to do the job instead of hiring people only "willing to learn". Too many mistakes and miscommunication is made because of this.
Review from Marketing Dept
Business structure is outdated and the leadership team is failing to recognize that. They continue with their old ways and this could potentially be their downfall unless they do something about it. They need to focus on other aspects of their business, not just the data-driven teams.
Review from Marketing Dept
People, Culture, Perks, Benefits, Compensation, Healthcare. Pretty much everything!
Review from Operations Dept
The open floor plan and kitchen.
Review from Product Dept
Everything looks perfectly fine now
Review from Operations Dept
More conference rooms and parking spaces
