Overall, it has been a very positive experience working for Golden Hippo. It is not your run-of-the-mill corporate culture environment. It's a fun, driven, collaborative, environment of professionals working toward a common goal.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
Initially excited. Then the rose colored glasses came off. The real problems started to show up. Addressing them was met with pessimism and negativity. Apparently several leaders reinforce toxic mindsets in order to appease some executives who have been here long and have lot of power in the company

I enjoy the opportunities for growth and development at work.

They're truly very kind individuals who care about the company's success.

The leadership team is transparent and addresses employee concerns head-on and with an honest conversation.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is honest, transparent, driven and fun to work with. I always enjoy my time in the office.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The office environment is laid back even if the pace of the work is quick. Also, with a good manager, there are opportunities for career growth.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The KPI bonus structure has me projected to make more than my compensation package initially called for. There are opportunities to get KPI bonuses throughout the year.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Free health care and dental, and the ability to buy up in the dental plan to add special services. The opportunity to participate in a ESOP is awesome.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The workplace culture is unmatched. The energy is positive and the environment is collaborative. Everyone is working toward a common goal and ready to help the next person win, as we will all win in the end.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Coworkers need to overcome the fear of the company becoming more "corporate", which people say a lot whenever a suggestion for defined processes and more efficient workflows are suggested. Complaints that so many people are involved in a process when that's often the most efficient way in the end.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
It's not exciting to show up to work when leadership is change-resistant. They hire qualified people and hinder them from implementing changes that would bring the company success because "that's not how we do it here" or "that's already been tried and doesn't work". Allow people to try things again
