Guitar Center Claimed Company
"We have always known that our success comes from our people, but to put it through this lens, we want all our associates to look left and right and see themselves, knowing that Guitar Center is a place where hard work, good ideas, and culture thrive. What they hear from leadership needs to reflect this vision. That means a diverse collection of men, women of all backgrounds and experiences at all levels of our organization. As candidates consider Guitar Center, we want them to know this is who we are and they will feel welcomed here. That’s how we will continue to stick around for another 40, 50, 60 years."? - Ron Japinga, CEO, Guitar Center read more

Guitar Center Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

They're innovative and lean in into technology to help drive sales and our brand

They listen to their team

they are calm and collected in high stress moments

The leadership team is aligned and agressive in terms of reaching our goals. Guitar Center is hiring high caliber leadership talent to focus on growth, innovation and experience. Our new CEO is an amazing leader and has implemented an entirely new strategic vision. It's a time of great change!

What leadership team? Everyone secretly despises each other

They have a passion for the brand.

The attention to every detail of the day

My Leadership Team is Approachable!

They listen to their employees

They are Not afraid of change

Coworkers are good, especially the managers

Level of communication to complete tasks

They really care about us

They offer guidance through everything and they do not talk down on employees.

This store in specific, they are friendly and understanding.

They're all very cooperative and understanding

At the atore level manaent would love to gove you the world. At the corporate level, youre just a number

Some mangers are good others should be fired.

Very active with sales and promotional material.

It’s real people that try to be understandi

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

That retail staff are assets and are worth investing in. Proper onboarding and training and setting realistic goals. They change the goal weekly, therefore difficult for the staff to buy into the business. Do not appoint people to management positions just because of the years they have been ther

Locally speaking, being present in the store, leading by example and just plainly giving a damn.

Listening to Frontline workers. Increasing pay and benefits. A base level of human decency.

Communication, Support, Managing emotions, General Leadership skills

Empathy, respect, communication skills, training and mental health issues. Would just be a start.

At the store level, my leadership team is great. At the corporate/executive level, there is a huge disconnect between what is going on in the stores making deployment extremely difficult sometimes because of their complete lack of understanding or empathy to associates or customers.

Actually leading, they honestly are really bad st communication and the hours are being solit unfairly in my opinion

Respect, equitable accountability around all aspects of the business, and respecting employees

Listening and communicating with employees

My store has been without a manager since September. So many lessons have been dropped by the wayside because of this. I've had a few times where multiple students have shown up at the same lesson time. I would like for students to understand when and when they cannot make up missed lessons.

Leadership needs to lead by example. They constantly put more and more work on associated while they get paid way too much for what they do

Communication and employee relations need immense improvement

Pay people a living wage, not poverty wages.

Get rid of the current manager and replace with ones that have better understanding of their job and how to treat employees

Communicating goals and listening to employee concerns. Mgmt would rather fire a tenured employee and hire a high schooler than to give a raise

Stop being so greedy and pay associates a living wage up to par with the year that we’re living

Gaining any sense of perception while actually facing problems instead of blaming the workers in the front line for not reporting problems enough. They stuff their ears to any feedback regarding the truth of issues and expect you to never dip in sales as a customer service agent.

Leadership changes its mind three times a day, they can't commit to anything, and everything is a fire drill.

Caring for their employees safety and well being, the ones who keep the machine moving

Review from Sales Dept

Better pay. Better training. Better staff.
