Guitar Center Claimed Company
"We have always known that our success comes from our people, but to put it through this lens, we want all our associates to look left and right and see themselves, knowing that Guitar Center is a place where hard work, good ideas, and culture thrive. What they hear from leadership needs to reflect this vision. That means a diverse collection of men, women of all backgrounds and experiences at all levels of our organization. As candidates consider Guitar Center, we want them to know this is who we are and they will feel welcomed here. That’s how we will continue to stick around for another 40, 50, 60 years."? - Ron Japinga, CEO, Guitar Center read more

Guitar Center Team Employee Reviews

What are some of the best things about your team?

We are all friendly people

They are motivated, effective and ask for very little. They want effective management: realistic goals, motivational meetings and tools to help them succeed.

There are many great things about my team but the first thing that comes to mind is how fun they are. We love getting things done and having a good laugh along the way.

Great hardworking people who want to bring music to the world

They are kind, talented people.

all have answers very adverse team with knowledge

Review from Customer Support Dept

They are fun to work with

The passion from music translates into passion for the merchandise. Some of the best salesman that this company has genuinely loves everything about the industry.

1/3 of my coworkers are fun ans sociable and i easily get a long with. The others are elitist and tend to not even look my way. When i ask for help with a transaction (im still farily new), i am greeted with a scowl and a sigh.

Review from Sales Dept

Everyone who works at Guitar Center at the store level does it for the joy of helping people make music. It is their passion. Shamefully our executives exploit this.

The working as a unit

Interactive with each other. Easy going.

They do a good job for the most part

We respect each other and work hard through adversity

My team collaborates very well

Their commitment to do their best.

They work hard to do what they can do with what very little they've been given to work with. If the team was given more resources to help with these problems it would not be an issue

Friendliness and synergy, and level of interpersonal understanding between everyone.

Everyone covers one another when needed

We work together and help each other throughout the day. Nobody thinks they are above the other and we have fun while staying professional.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Common sense. It's hard having to juggle more and get paid the same as someone who doesn't have near the experience or tenure or know how to even accomplish a fraction of what needs to get done in a day.

Hire people with real world experience instead of hiring people that know nothing about the job or skills needed to be successful at the job.

If everyone is focused on their own task at hand we will be better

If employees were held accountable for slacking or cutting corners the company could be more efficient but upper mgmt seems to be the only ones willing to pull that trigger

The kids have a horrible work ethic. The older adults are good.

Being competent and less lazy

Well, by getting something out of our managers. They do not care if your only dealing with customers that are not buying anything. That's apparently your fault.

Having clearly communicated goals would help immensely.

Hire people that actually know product and aren't just "sales"

Review from Sales Dept

Sales staff is basically kids or retirees. Hard to hire anyone with any real talent when you pay peanuts. The training is terrible mostly computer based and it’s content is insultingly juvenile. If we focused on creating professional sales people we would

Review from Sales Dept

So many people are not qualified for the position they have. So many people get promoted because they knew someone or they were in the company for a long time without having the skills to become a manager.

They need to care more about each other's success, instead of seeing each other as obstacles to their own success.

We work together fine. Obviously you have a few bad eggs but it’s normally s very easy and fun place
