Hobby Lobby Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Being trusted to do my work w/o anyone checking up on me. I know what I'm doing and I'm good at it

The interaction with store employees.

A very comfortable, team based environment.

Our customers love to come visit with us while they shop.

We're not open super late and have Sundays off. My immediate team is a positive work environment. Overall the company's work expectations have gotten way too much with less staff and payroll.

Pay seems at the high end for a retail job.

Most people are appreciative of my work

They seem friendly but it's not so once your learning

Customers are usually honest and friendly even during seasonal month

They want to look good to the customers but not always that way behind the scene.

most of the people are very easy to get along with

How we interact as a team without management involvemeny!

Review from Operations Dept

We accept and treat everybody the same.

We of the coworkers I worked hard me long hours with

Been working together for a while so pretty much can guess what the other is thinking

Its faith based. But i generally feel like its more of a marketing aspect for them. Their actions do not align with their beliefs.

Review from Sales Dept

The products they sell are all beautiful and it is a store that is supposed to inspire creativity by selling craft and hobby supplies

Trying to make evrybody laugh because the vibe it's pretty negative

Most of the Assistant Managers are really understanding and caring,

I have very nice coworkers and everyone seems to really be a team and are helpful and not too much negativity. But ppl who aren't full time don't seem to stick around and ones that were mgmt either got demoted or quit or asked to be demoted

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Better leadership training for TL. Establish transparent, easily accessible channels for employees to share their thoughts, concerns, and ideas without fear of reprisal. Default to transparency in sharing company goals, challenges, and progress.

New management or better priorities

Treating employees as valued workers

better management, better care of employees needs, better pay for part time. organization in ever department that is actually effective and works... All thay have in place now is just " busy work" it is not effective

Treat loyal employees better and pay them better

Manager's actions need to match the words they speak

Top Management in control currently at store level

Stop forcing employees to sacrifice their time without their consent

Review from Customer Support Dept

Corp. does not pass down positive work environment. unrealistic expectations from RVP.

Management needs to have better people skills, and corporate needs to loosen up and realize that the boomers will all eventually die off. If they can't work with the younger generations, the company will fail.

Treat long term employees like they matter

They could not judge people

Less favoritism and better moral. Better training for new hires.

Better/competent leadership. Better opportunity for all employees not just some

Be Christian based with Christian leaders and managers. And I can speak for a lot of people who believe that also.

Its not the compny its the individual locations

The mangers and assisite mangers

Quit yelling at workers! A very hostile environment!

Review from Sales Dept

The Manager needs improvement or training.

Review from Sales Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better is to take care of any toxic leadership.
