I love the tasks and duties I have as a stockman but many times I'm asked to do things in a time frame that are beyond capable of being done. I've come to love most but not all managers and assistant managers. Plenty of occasions I'm being yelled at and treated poorly over simple miscommunications.

What's the company culture like at Hobby Lobby?
Our Hobby Lobby seems to be like a family for the most part. We can be ourselves in the sense that we all appreciate eachother for who we are as people, however when it comes to "company" culture in line with the mission of the company-that is a different story.
Narrow-minded with very little camaraderie. In my particular store, there was a very select group of people hired, despite what laws are in effect.
What are you most excited about working at Hobby Lobby?
The excitement has dwindled as I've been stagnated in a nowhere position. However, it is in connecting with my customers on a personal level, making them laugh, having them smiling on the way out, and even getting to show my humanity with different sorts of people (elderly, veterans, disabled, disenfranchised, believers in Jesus) that is exciting to me. To be able to even speak about faith or proclaim the Name of Jesus in and of itself is a blessing and goes beyond excitement- I can be me at Hobby Lobby and share with people the best of myself.
The customers are usually happy to come to the store and it is a pleasure to assist them in their individual needs.

This is a variable question with variable answers. Depending on the day of the week, the amount of coverage in place, and the overall scope of daily operations; the pace can be one of two extremes: chaotic or smooth and steady. Most of the time many of the dept heads or leadership are wearing 5 hats at once and are running from one side of the store to the other, it can be a bit ridiculous.
