Ms. Katherine L. Adams, also known as Kate, has been Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Apple Inc., since November 2017. Ms. Adams oversees all legal matters, including corporate governance, intellectual property, litigation and securities compliance, global security, and privacy. She served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Honeywell International Inc. since April 27, 2009. Ms. Adams was responsible for managing all of legal affairs including Securities and Exchange Commission filings and disclosure, corporate governance, human resources and benefits, intellectual property rights, litigation, environmental compliance and acquisitions and divestitures. Ms. Adams served as Vice President of Honeywell International Inc. since April 27, 2009 and its General Counsel since September 2008. She was responsible for leading the global legal strategy, health safety and environment, government relations and compliance programs for Honeywell's 128,000 employees in more than 100 countries. She served as Vice President and General Counsel for Performance Materials and Technologies of Honeywell Specialty Materials, LLC from February 2005 to September 2008. She served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Litigation for Honeywell since 2003. She was a Partner of Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP in New York City. In her career, Ms. Adams served in roles as law clerk for Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, Supreme Court of the United States; trial attorney for the United States Department of Justice, Appellate Section, Environment and Natural Resources division; and law clerk for Stephen Breyer, then Chief Justice United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and Justice of the Supreme Court. Throughout her career, she held academic positions as Adjunct Assistant Professor of law for the New York University Law School and most recently, as Adjunct Assistant Professor of environmental law for Columbia University Law School in New York City. Ms. Adams holds a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature with French and German concentrations from Brown University in 1986 and LLB from the University of Chicago Law School in Chicago, Illinois.
