Mr. Robert H. Smith, also known as Bob, serves as the President of Mechanical Systems & Components at Honeywell International Inc. Mr. Smith served as Chief Technology Officer of Honeywell Aerospace, where he led the worldwide Engineering & Technology team. He joined Honeywell Aerospace as Vice President of Advanced Technology and was responsible for developing new technologies and setting long-term growth strategies across the entire business. Prior to joining Honeywell, he served as Executive Director of the Space Shuttle Upgrades Development Program at the United Space Alliance. He worked at The Aerospace Corporation as Systems Director of the NASA Programs Office and served as the Site Manager for Houston operations. He served as Executive Vice President of Administration at Novellus Systems Inc., from January 2002 to September 2002 and as its Chief Financial Officer from January 2002 to August 2002. From 1986 to 1990, Mr. Smith served as President of Maxwell Graphics Inc. In 1982, he joined R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company, as an Executive Vice President of Finance and the Chief Financial Officer. From 1982 to 1986, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Maxwell Communications of North America Corporation. From 1963, the onset of his career at Honeywell Inc., he has held a number of executive positions in operations, finance and administration at Memorex Corporation and Control Data Corporation. While at Control Data, Mr. Smith was selected to head its international finance operation based in Brussels, Belgium as Vice President of international Finance. Mr. Smith has over forty years of experience in financial management with leading technology companies. From June 1994 to September 1994, Mr. Smith served as the Chairman of Micro Component Technology, Inc. He has been a Director of PLX Technology Inc. since December 18, 2013 and also served as its Director since November 12, 2002 until December 18, 2013. He served as a Director of Virage Logic Corporation since August 2003 and also as its Lead Director. He served as a Director of ON Semiconductor Corp. from September 2005 to 2012. He served as a Director of AMI Semiconductor Inc. since September 2005. He served as a Director of Cirrus Logic Inc. since 1990 until July 2012 and served as its Lead Independent Director. He served as a Director of Epicor Software Corporation from May 22, 2003 to May 16, 2011 and also served as its Lead Director from April 2005 to May 16, 2011. He served as a Director of Novellus Systems Inc. from 1995 to September 2002. He served as a Director of Frame Technology. He has lectured at the University of California at Los Angeles, served as co-principal investigator on a shuttle payload experiment and has written many technical publications. He is a fellow at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Royal Aeronautical Society. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to the aerospace industry from the Society of Women Engineers, the Society of Automotive Engineers, NASA and other organizations. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Oklahoma City University. He earned advanced degrees in engineering and applied mathematics from Texas A&M, Brown University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management and a doctorate in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas.
