In the three years I've been with Hy-Vee, the morale in the store has plummeted to an all time low. Not one person I work with says they're excited to come to work. If you like your closest co-workers, that's great but at some point, even that isn't enough to keep you there.

We hold one another up.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Cutting hours, spending money where it isn't positively impacting the store level. Stop spending stupid money on ads and race cars.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
As previously stated, appreciate those who make everyone's paycheck possible. The person sitting in an office is too far disconnected from the person actually on the floor serving the customers.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
LISTEN to your employees, don't just hear them. The front line workers are who make YOUR paycheck possible, stop taking for granted they'll just bend over backwards with every whim of the CEO down to store level management. Treat those front line workers with the respect they deserve.
