I am really enjoying my time with Hy-Vee overall. I have been there a year and have worked in the Produce Dept and Bakery so far. All of the coworkers I have as well as the customers are overall really great. Of course you will encounter people who dislike their job but its not as frequent here.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are down to earth and work right along side you regardless of what their title may be.
What makes you most happy at work?
Getting to help customers is my #1 favorite part about work. My team mates also make going to work enjoyable as well.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
They have great compensation options for FT employees and they provide a decent amount of benefits for PT employees even if they may not realize it.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I have worked in a few different departments and I really appreciate how the upper managment is very hands on. Your coworkers really feel like family and there is a warm and inclusive atmosphere at the store I work at.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The team members become like family. The store managment I have had the pleasure of working with has been absolutely wonderful as well. I would say that the "employees are owners" mentality is pretty accurate overall too. The benefits for FT is great too.
What did you like most about the interview process?
The interview process left a lot to be desired. Even thought I enjoy the job quite a bit the HR manager could do a better job at describing the roles available, what future opportunites exist with the company and provide an onboarding process. There really isnt one currently.
