What makes you most happy at work?

Coworkers, feeling of "a job well done"

What is the best part about your compensation package?

401k match. Could be better though.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

As GM department head employees are excellent. Interdepartmental cooperation is always tricky but we also manage that. Store management really needs work though. On how to relate to their employees.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Some practices feel forced and unnatural like Cultural Council and the Promise Team. Their intentions are good though. Its hard to combat resentment about pay, vacation time, other petty things among less big-thinking associates.

What did you like most about the interview process?

Store secretary who originally interviewed me was beyond mediocre, but my interview for department head was excellent. Much talk about my future, how I personally can make a difference, etc., and help going forward was genuinely offered.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Store mgmt: Authentic & realistic implementation of company policy. No one likes a manager that recites back new practices like a contestant @ a spelling bee. Relate to your people, understand variation across stores & associates. Executive team: few complaints here, good communication, down2earth
