  • The Server Group post IBM Acquisition has taken a bit to get set up right, IBM sold them a mess and did their best to crush it before selling it. They've righted the ship, put Lenovo energy in place and the up coming year will be the time to see if it all comes together.

  • It depends on your Manager. They have a formal review process but many managers have weekly one-on-ones.

  • This is a difficult question. They seem to give preference to certain people or people who come from certain companies such as IBM, Intel, Cisco, Microsoft. Your chances would be better if you are highly technical, have an advanced degree, have some kind of relevant certification, and come from one of the places I mentioned.

  • I’m no longer employed there. I was a contractor who should have been converted at the 6-month mark but was not due to finances. Towards the last couple of months of my tenure, my job was in jeopardy. Case in point, after I left my position was eliminated. Eventually, I would have been laid off.

  • I wish I had known about the challenges they had with the data center line of business. By the time I joined it had not made a profit for about 4 quarters. When I left budgets were being slashed and layoffs were in the horizon.
