There is very little alignment at MetLife which means very little in the way of SOPs or retrospectives happening. This is one of the most disorganized companies I have worked for. Almost no accountability and toxic office politics at the management level.
What makes you most happy at work?
Signing off for the day.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
When a manager is willing to have an open mindset, I've seen great ideas gain life.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Right now I'm able to WFH which is very beneficial with my disability. They are pushing hard for return to office though.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone on my team is friendly and open even though we've never met in person. I like the international spread of my team and getting to learn about their cultures.
What would you improve about your company's interview process?
The recruiter I worked with initially no showed to our first call and was late to the rescheduled call. Once we did get on the phone I think she read my resume for the first time during the call. It was disrespectful of my time.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I pay out of pocket for my medications because I hate dealing with Express Scripts. The medical insurance is more expensive than at my previous company and covers less. Annual raises are lower than when I worked for a nonprofit. It's shameful in a record profit year our raises didn't match inflation
