Asked to all employees at Nike

  • Top Employee Response

    Most of them are nice.

  • coworkers are awesome leadership is too heavy - too many layers - too much bureaucracy and senior leaders have to approve EVERYTHING. we are not empowered

  • Collaborative yet siloed (even according to Mark Parker's employee all hands 5/3/2018). Fierce yet friendly (most of the time). Know your stuff and be at the top of your game and engagement, and you'll fit in just fine here.

    Very secure

  • Most of the time great. Suddenly things can change. Age and weight mean a lot. Don’t EVER believe it doesn’t. It is a fitness brand.

  • About as secure as I feel in any company. Maybe a little more so because Nike is generally very profitable and stable

People who are ok with ambiguity, who like and are not afraid of change. People who can work in an unstructured yet demanding environment

  • People into sports and if you are into running/healthy. You must work a lot

  • Literally from the mouth of a NET leader: “Young and fast...and white...and male...”

Asked to all employees at Nike

  • Nike has a lot of people in high positions who have been there forever and are complacent. They don’t value outside experiences in leadership - only what you’ve done at NIKE.

  • Less silos and more rapid DevOps culture + continuous deployment with more opportunities to move around teams and/or objectives for greater career breadth (still possible but requires changing positions every year or two at the company to accomplish through formal interview process).

  • I would strive to hire more women in the Nike Digital Engineering division.

  • Good. Somewhat inconsistent

  • Not great. There are many avenues, but few people have the courage to really coach people effectively.

  • Similar to most relationships with authoritarian regimes: non-existent or so punitive and worthless as to be non-helpful
