Asked to all employees at Nike

  • Brick and mortar are being cannibalized by e-commerce and digital departments -- digital = career/job growth whereas last I heard in 2017 a bunch of program and project managers were being let go for brick and mortar due to severe revenue dips for those business units. Also, Nike left Golf hardware and now just sticks with Golf apparel and I think minor accessories.

Asked to the HR Department at Nike

  • For the most part good. There is still a fair amount of disparity in what they say vs. what they do. For example they say "we don't want people spending hours and hours making perfect presentations to speak to us" yet if you bring in a "draft" or any imperfect version of a presentation they immediately pick it apart. And they fully expect a presentation in order to have a conversation. They do however I think genuinely care about the company and the success of the function, they just fail to see their impact on the inefficiencies.
