Optum Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Paid well, but yearly raises do not do it. You have to be committed to advancing yourself for applying for positions that will gain you insight to another department. Do not be afraid of lateral moves. Its showing your dedication to learn more.

I think it is a fair wage for the job I do and the responsibility I have.

Fairly comprehensive, offering lots of different coverages and somewhat transparent

Review from Product Dept

Bereavement leave, Total Rewards, generous PTO

Salary and stock options, including the employee stock purchase (at substantial discount) which is an instant win and creates a culture of ownership among frontline staff.

Salary, stock, benefits and perks

Paid time off and insurance

High pay and high merit based bonus

Working from home. Saving money on gas, wardrobe, commute time. That factors in, and makes the wage much more attractive.

The healthcare and retirement benefits

Its very competitive with other companies.

The salary and health insurance provided.

My benefits give me good coverage without financially crippling me

Compensation is well and thoroughly thought of. They value their employees

Medical coverage needs much improvement

Review from Operations Dept

Good pay, stock options, health insurance

Base salary abd bonus both are great

Wide variety if olans to select from.

The Bind health plan is awesome.

the best part is the allowances and also the incentives which makes us excited to go to work

Review from Operations Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Higher annual salary, much better healthcare coverage.

They refused to give me a raise when I moved because they stated that I was now at the pay cap for my new state despite me doing the same job. They continue to decrease employer contributions and increase my cost for benefits.

My pay rate is much less than the area normal. New emplyees are getting better offers

With education and experience I should be at 75k

Equal pay between men and women, clearly defined bonus targets

Review from Operations Dept

Higher hourly wage, based on amount of money I have earned the company and saved the company by finding and resolving errors AND my individual performance bonus... o and more than a 22 cent an hr raise annually

When you contractors who have been there for a year and do not have any issues with metrics and receive positive reviews should be offered a job. They seem to pick and choose with no explanation as to why.

Yes, pay for performance not for length of service

Optum does not add the type of value that one would typically have with their assigned responsibilities. The enterprise is quick to expand responsibilities without expanding role, title, or compensation. A compounded reality is Optums competitors are paying significantly higher wages.

The huge cut in pay was a slap in the face to nurses with many years experience. The ridiculously tight patient scheduling is unfair to both staff and patients. Patients are leaving at a rapid pace.

pay is less as compared to the work pressure taken and work done, fair salary hikes

Im assigned just as much work as higher paid teammates

Better pay and benefits would have been motivating

Growth opportunities lacking and compensation doesn't meet market rates

Variable pay needs to be a quarterly payout

Review from Product Dept

Increased recognition for working on projects with pay.

Raises based on performance instead of cost of living

Increase pay, offer annual raises that at a minimum keep up with inflation, offer bonuses based on individual performance.

Better benefits. We are one of the biggest health insurance companies in the world and as employees, we have the worst and most expensive healthcare benefits.

Review from Operations Dept

I was laid off despite being told numerous times, I was excellent at my job.
