
Leadership is lacking. They tend to promote pure technical people instead of good leaders and managers. And, typically, pure technical experts are not great leaders. I would say that Boeing does a slightly better job at this, and even they are lacking in this category.
They tend to have a number of low performing employees that should really be move to better assignments for them or laid off. The performance evaluation process is close to worthless, as it pushes everyone to be average, providing very little incentive for most employees to excel.
Although NG claims they have a better culture than their competitors, I've worked at those competitors and they are fooling themselves. They are all the same company with different names. Due to the large amount of people migrating between companies. The "lifers" are drinking their own kool-aide.
