Executive Bio

Mr. Douglas A. Suriano, also known as Doug, has been Senior Vice President and General Manager of Communications at Oracle Corporation since September 12, 2016. Mr. Suriano is responsible for managing strategic planning, product development, sales, service and support for Oracle Communications products. He joined Oracle in 2013 as Vice President of products for Oracle Communications following the Tekelec acquisition. In this role, he oversaw product development and product management for the network signaling and policy management product portfolio. He served as Chief Technology Officer of Tekelec, Inc. since August 2011 and served as its Vice President of Engineering since joining in 2003. He was responsible for product innovation, leadership in standards bodies and industry forums and advocacy for mobile data solutions across Tekelec's global customer base. He developed Tekelec's next-generation mobile broadband portfolio through organic growth and strategic acquisitions, while expanding market share of its voice and text solutions. His key tekelec achievements during his tenure include: Initiating the transition from hardware-centric products to software-centric solutions, Integrating organic and acquired next-generation session management, policy management and subscriber data management products onto the carrier-grade XG middleware platform, Introducing the Diameter Signaling Router and the first Diameter router sold into multiple LTE networks. He joined Tekelec from dynamicsoft, Inc., where he served as vice president of engineering, overseeing development of SIP products for service providers in the early adoption phase of advanced IP-based services. Prior to dynamicsoft, Mr. Suriano served as Chief Information Officer for QAD Inc., and was responsible for its global IT infrastructure, business systems and development support. He began his technology career as a director of information systems for the United States Marine Corps. He has been a Director of Bandwidth Inc. since October 2017. Mr. Suriano earned a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Master of Science in information technology from the Naval Postgraduate School.
