Full time hours. The vibe was attempt at team support
Full time hours. Management has little follow thru regarding predicted operation and policy changes
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at PCM?
The sales team is segregated by sales vertigals. This creates a division between similiar employees
I don’t believe the culture needs to be improved. I do believe that all people have the need to be be financially self sufficient. When a person first starts out at a company such as PCM, sales are going to be low, you’re learning about the trade and the items and manufactures that you’re representing. Wow you are learning and finding your feet, I believe the pay structure should be higher, not poverty level. As knowledge and confidence rises; such as one year or six months.... or whatever, then salary should be lowered. I think this is logical. But, as a 40 year old with a high closing rate, what do I know. What I do know is I need transportation, I need housing, I need sustenance, I have to pay taxes. I could not take care of these basic needs while working at PCM. Upper management/corporate needs to take a look at HOW they will grow or last. The employees they have now are not gonna live forever.
I would not change the culture, however I would change the structure and clean up the support department’s

What's the Sales team like at PCM?
autonomous and self managed
Team is fairly positive on a regular basis
The interaction between employees is absolutely ideal. However PCM Corporation is very mismanaged, All the support departments that are there to support the sales team is a mess. Too many databases need to be used in order to fill one order; order management, processing, credit management, etc. is a mess so it’s very difficult to get your job done when you work there. And the pay is absolutely horrible
What part of PCM's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Service type products should have more focus from all levels including management and sales force
I can count the newer employees (1-3 yr tenure) on my hands and my toes (and my boyfriend’s hands and toes), that I have known while working at PCM. Each one of these newer tenured employees were all laid off within those 1-3 years. Corporate cuts they said. PCM has a lot a little companies that it has purchased and some within the last couple of years. They need to stop. If your company cannot afford that pittance to your employees, then quit buying smaller companies or adding satellites. Either the CEO/CFO needs fuel for his private jet or he/she got their business degree from a cracker jack box.
PCM requires a lot of smaller technologyBased businesses however their company does not take time in migrating information Within the new companies as well as all of the corporationdata bases. Therefore it’s very difficult to get your job done when you have a sales position at PCM, you spend more time cleaning up orders and the mistakes the other supporting departments make in order to keep your customers Happy
