the Spirit of Pepboys as an American Icon is dead!, employees at the store level who worked 20-30 years are being fired for low production numbers or low customer counts. Area Directors think their untouchable and can do what they want. the workplace has become very toxic

were a family, we always work around each others weak points
What is the best part about your compensation package?
401k (which is no longer being matched, up until a year ago) paid vacation time (much needed)
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
police the area directors and not terminate employees due to outside factors causing low production numbers, were in a pandemic after all!
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Managers work around schedules and the staff are always great, its always the upper management that make this job difficult to work for.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
care more about the customers, and less about stores hitting their quota every day. "we take care of people, AND their cars" is the new saying. its hard when every store needs to hit a quota of 5,6,7,8 thousand dollars a day, becomes less of "taking car of customers" and more of "what can we sell"
