The employees at the store level are pretty good, but it's a battle to make any changes to better the store. My Area Director was the absolute worst. He tried to inspire by threatening the managers. When I stood up to him about his lack of support and lies, I was let go, by immediate resignation.

Supporting their Store Mangers. Stop the bullying by the Area Directors.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Support the store managers, respect the store managers and stop bullying the store managers by the Area Directors
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
They feel that they own you and you do not have the right to any time with your family. This is the position of the AD's. They have their favorites that they help and the rest of us get screwed.
