A lot of good people who are passionate about their work, work at Pratt & Whitney. A lot of the systems in place make it more difficult for them to have real impact.
What makes you most happy at work?
The support of my manager and my teammates make the days go faster.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is full of competent people all trying to do the right thing for our team and our customers.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Paid leave for parents should be better. P&W is a leading company and they should treat their people that way.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They at least make an honest attempt to empower their employees. It doesn't always happen because of other restrictions. But they try.
What did you like most about the interview process?
The company is good about having a panel involved, and empowering direct managers and/or teams. But the coordination with recruitment is lacking.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
They are trying to be more empowering and developmental. The company is overwhelmingly operations focused, however, and many managers are not prepared to develop their employees.
