I changed to a manager that was more supportive and mentoring. My previous manager was disrespectful and degrading to staff. My new manager worked to be a change champion to create a healthy work environment but leadership was resistant to these changes. The needed changes are slow to happen.

Know their job. Know their employees. Care about employees. Prioritize. I had nedical issues due to severe stress by the time I left but HR, managemebt, upper management didn't care. I was expected to work 60+ hours a week, on call 24/7 because they did not hire when people quit or retired. No comp.
Focus on employee satisfaction and quality of patient care instead of micromanagement and productivity.

The leadership team needs to get better at realizing that budget cuts should include cutting administrative positions not healthcare personnel that actually use their brains and do real work for the community to save lives and carry out healthcare tasks that are absolutely needed.
