A large part of it is due to the effects of rapid inflation on the value of our money; it just doesn't cover as much as it use to. It would take either a drastic decrease in inflation and interest rates on loans, or annual increases in compensation the match or exceed the rate of inflation.

As a younger employee at Smith, I don't feel properly compensated. We always pivot and make the best out of tough situations. My main life stress is being able to pay for food, rent, insurance, and school. The good benefits don't make up for the low wages. I don't need the majority of the benefits.

The base salary is extremely low for all employees of Smith, across the board. Everyone deserves ample raise especially those who live in satellite offices with Houston salaries. Every state and country is different and we should get compensated as such, rather than spending thousands on fish tanks.
