Spirit Airlines FAQs

Spirit Airlines's Frequently Asked Questions page is a central hub where its customers can always go to with their most common questions. These are the 200 most popular questions Spirit Airlines receives.

Frequently Asked Questions About Spirit Airlines

  • Q: Is Spirit Airlines getting Wi-Fi?

A: Yes! Spirit has an agreement to have high-speed Wi-Fi installed on its entire fleet.

Q: When will Spirit Wi-Fi be ready to use?

A: Installations will begin in November and the entire fleet is expected to be finished in 2021.

Q: How much will it cost?

A: Spirit will offer high-speed web browsing and streaming options with an average price of $6.50. Actual costs may be lower or higher based on the route and demand.

Q: Will I be able to stream video?

A: Yes! Our high-speed Wi-Fi will allow you to stream a video if you purchase a streaming package.

Q: Is the service any good?

A: The service is a state-of-the-art satellite based product. Guests should be able to surf with a similar performance level they would expect at home.

    Q: What’s the coverage like?

A: Spirit Wi-Fi will cover about 97\% of Spirit’s routes, with a handful of international routes provided with partial coverage. After 2021, with the addition of a new satellite, Spirit Wi-Fi will cover 100\% of our current routes.

Q: Are Guests who don’t use Spirit Wi-Fi subsidizing the service?

A: No. We’ve worked hard to make sure fares will not be impacted as a result of the addition of Wi-Fi.

Q: Will there be any free content, or a media center with preloaded movies or TV shows?

A: Unfortunately, not at this time, however, with our streaming package you can access all of your content through Netflix, Hulu, or other popular sites.

Q: How will I know if my plane is Wi-Fi equipped?

A: Flight attendants will notify Guests onboard as part of their pre-flight announcements. Instructions on how to connect will also be provided.

  • To keep ticket prices (Bare Fare) low for everyone, we charge for carry-ons and checked bags. We charge more for checked bags over 40 lbs. This is because the added weight requires more gas for the plane. One personal item that fits entirely in the smaller sizer box (like a purse, small backpack, etc.) is included with your ticket. Another personal item or anything larger like a standard carry-on or checked bag will need to be paid for.

  • We welcome trained service animals, emotional support animals (ESAN), and psychiatric service animals (PSA) onboard if the following guidelines are met at the time of travel. BeginningApril 15th, 2019, these guidelines have changed - please see the requirements below.

Emotional Support Animals and Psychiatric Service Animals

In order to travel with your ESAN or PSA, please download the forms found at the bottom of this page, and submit the completed forms here atleast 48 hours before your flight. If these forms are not submitted at least 48 hours prior to your flight, we will do our best to verify and approve them, but we cannot guarantee travel with your animal. Please know:

These forms will need to be submitted for each reservation you will be traveling on.

All forms must be signed and dated within one year prior to your initial flight or they will be denied.

We recommend you carry these forms throughout your travels, in case of irregular flight operations potentially resulting in travel on another airline.

Our agents at the airport cannot approve your forms, as they must be submitted electronically and approved by our dedicated team of Disability Coordinators.

Mental Health Professional Form subject to verification

Veterinary Health Form subject to verification

    Passenger Acknowledgement Form

Guests who booked their itinerary prior to April 15th, 2019, have no limit to the number of approved emotional support or psychiatric service animals they can bring with them. For Guests who booked April 15th, 2019 and after, there is a limit of 1 ESAN or PSA per person and the animal must be at leastfour months of age due to rabies vaccination requirements.

For additional requirements and information regarding travel with your emotional support or psychiatric service animal, please see our “Additional Requirements and Guidelines” section below.

    Trained Service Animals

We accept trained service animals that have been individually trained to provide a service or perform a specific task(s) to those with a disability. Some examples include animals that assist with deafness or hard of hearing, seizures, mobility limitations, visual impairment, or other physical disabilities.

Note: A service animal vest, harness, ID card, or registration is not accepted as the sole indication an animal is a trained service animal.

Guests who booked their itinerary prior to April 15th, 2019 have no limit to the number of service animals they can bring with them. For Guests who booked April 15th, 2019 and after, there is a limit of 3 service animals per person.

For additional requirements and information regarding travel with your trained service animal, please see our “Additional Requirements and Guidelines” section below.

NOTE:Therapy animals are animals which provide comfort to members of the public and are not trained to perform a specific task for an individual related to a disability. These animals may be eligible to travel in accordance with our Pet Policy for a charge.

    Additional Requirements and Guidelines

The animal must remain with you at all times.

If at any time the animal shows signs that it will cause a disruption in the cabin, it has not been trained to function as a service animal in a public setting, or any signs of aggression, it will not be allowed to travel. Examples of disruptive/aggressive behavior include, but are not limited to:

    Growling

    Lunging

    Barking

    Biting

    Jumping on other Guests

Relieving itself on-board the aircraft or in the airport other than a designated animal relief area

    Emitting a strong odor

    International Travel

For international flights, along with the three required documents, there may be additional documentation and requirements for your trained service animal, ESAN or PSA.

We, or your travel agent, may be able to help you find out what additional documentation or requirements you may need for your destination. Please feel free to give our Spirit Guest Service a call at 801.401.2222.

Keep in mind, it is up to you to ensure that the requirements are met.

    Seating requirements

You may choose to sit anywhere you wish with the exception of emergency exit rows; however, additional seating requirements may apply depending on where your animal will be seated when traveling.

Animals in pet carriers may not sit in the first row.

If your emotional support and/or service animal must sit on your lap (provided the animal is no larger than a lap child), you may not occupy any seat equipped with an inflatable seat belt. While these are perfectly safe for you, it could put your animal’s well-being at risk if the seatbelts were to inflate. Please see the chart below of the seats with inflatable seat belts.

Trained service animals and emotional support animals can be placed on the aircraft floor or (provided the animal is no larger than a lap child and the seat does not have an inflatable seat belt) on the Guest’s lap.

No animals or any part of the animal can be placed on an aircraft seat at any time.

If the animal is seated on the floor at your feet, it cannot block an aisle or other area that must remain clear for emergency evacuation.

If the animal is seated on the floor at your feet, it cannot extend into another Guest’s foot space, unless that Guest gives consent allowing it to do so.

If you believe your animal needs more space than one seat allows, you are welcome to purchase either an additional seat/reservation or upgrade to one of our Big Front Seats. If you choose not to do so, we will attempt to accommodate you as best as possible upon your arrival to the airport, but we cannot guarantee space for your animal.

What type of service/ESAN/PSA animals do you NOT allow on-board?

While we welcome many animals on-board, there are certain animals we are not required to and will not accept, such as:

    Snakes

    Other reptiles

Rodents such as hamsters, mice, rats, squirrels, etc.

    Ferrets

    Sugar gliders

    Spiders

For other unusual animals, several factors determine whether an animal can travel in the cabin as a service animal. These factors include: the animal’s size, whether the animal poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others, whether it would cause a significant disruption of cabin service, and whether if the animal is prohibited from entering a foreign country. If you have any questions, please contact us at spirit.com/help.

Are there animal relief areas at the airport?

Yes, all airports are required to have pet relief areas. For the location of animal relief areas at the airports you will be traveling through, please feel free to review the appropriate airport’s website or ask one of our agents at the airport. Our agents are happy to help.

To have the best flight, we advise Guests to request special assistance during the following times:

In advance while booking your reservation online. If you’ve already booked your flight you may add the service through the My Trips section of our website or by calling our Contact Center at 801-401-2222.

After adding the service in advance, let an agent know at the airport while checking in, at your departure gate, and upon arrival (if needed) of the service you’ll need.

It’s best to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your scheduled departure time.

    Airport assistance

If needed, we can provide a wheelchair to you from the curb outside of a Spirit terminal. Since we do not have curbside check-in, a request for curbside assistance needs to be made with a Spirit representative inside the terminal.

We will provide assistance to the check-in counter, through security, and to your gate.

If you need assistance to a bathroom or to grab a bite to eat let the wheelchair porter know! They will assist if it’s in the same terminal and if time permits.

Pre-boarding the aircraft in a wheelchair can also be provided. Guests must inform the agent at the gate of their desire to pre-board and be present at the gate before boarding begins.

When landing at your destination, we ask that Guests remain on the aircraft until the last Guest has deplaned as this allows us to better identify those that need help, and ensures assistance is provided promptly. We will provide service to your connecting flight or to pick up your bag and to the curb outside the Spirit terminal.

Please keep in mind that we require Guests to identify themselves to a Spirit representative to receive wheelchair assistance. It’s our pleasure to help!

    Onboard assistance - Aisle wheelchair

We have specially designed wheelchairs for our Guests who are immobile to use in reaching their seats when boarding and deplaning our aircraft.

We recommend requesting this service when making your reservation. If you’ve already booked your flight, you may add assistance through our My Trips section of our website or by calling our Contact Center at 1 801-401-2222.

Upon arrival at the airport and at your departure gate, please notify a Spirit representative that an aisle wheelchair will be needed to assist with boarding. Pre-boarding will be provided upon request if requested prior to the boarding process.

When landing at your destination, aisle wheelchair assistance will be provided after the last Guest deplanes to ensure a smooth transition.

Please be sure to tell our agents how we can best assist you! We’re happy to help.

These passengerswill not be required to submit any additional information, submit an application, or pay a fee. However, random TSA Precheck status is applied on a flight-by-flight basis and has many factors, so it may appear for only part of your journey or only some members of your party. Remember, only guests with TSA Precheck printed on their current boarding pass are eligible to use the TSA Precheck line.

The quickest and least expensive option is to visit "My Trips" and make modifications yourself. You can also speak to a Guest Service Agent at your airport or the Guest Contact Center, but there will be a higher modification charge when an agent makes the change for you because it costs us in time and resources. • FAA approved Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) are allowed to be used onboard our aircraft. A POC is a medical device that separates oxygen from other gasses in the air and dispenses this concentrated oxygen to the user. To determine if a POC is FAA-approved, it must meet ONE of the follow requirements:

The POC must bear a permanent label on the exterior containing the following certification statement in red lettering: “The manufacturer of this POC has determined this device conforms to all applicable FAA acceptance criteria for POC carriage and use on board aircraft.”

Or the POC must be on the approved list below:

Note:The acceptance requirements only apply to POCs that Guests plan touseonboard the aircraft. If your POC does not display the permanent label or is not on the FAA approved list, it will not be accepted for use onboard, but may still be carried onboard. In this case, the device must meet Spirit’s carry-on size and weight requirements, or it must be transported as checked baggage.

A POC is considered an assistive device and is permitted free of charge in addition to the free baggage allowance unless it is packed in a bag that contains other items. We strongly suggest bringing the device onboard with you and not in your checked luggage.

Aircraft electrical plugs arenotavailable for use with any electronic device. We encourage enough batteries to power your POC throughout the entire journey, including all ground time (between connections), the duration of the flight, and for any unexpected delays generally enough battery power to last no less than 150\% of your maximum flight duration.

All batteries must be transported in carry-on baggage and must be packed in a manner that protects them from physical damage and short-circuits. Spare lithium batteries must be individually protected from short circuit by placement in the original retail packaging, insulating terminals by taping over exposed terminals, or by placing each battery in a separate plastic bag or protective pouch.

Batteries must be NON-SPILLABLE. Spirit will not accept spillable batteries.

    Seating and POCs

Guests may not sit in an exit row seat if they plan to use their POC onboard. Guests who need to use their POC onboard are generally assigned a window seat; however, the middle seat may be acceptable if no one is seated in the window seat. The aisle seat is acceptable if no one is seated in the window and middle seats.

Guests that must use a POC throughout the flight must stow the device under the seat in front of them during surface movement, take-off, and landing. The dimensions underneath our seats are 18 in. (l) x 16 in. (w) x 12 in. (h) and there are no weight restrictions for these devices.

NOTE:Spirit Airlines will not accept any personal oxygen systems containing liquid oxygen.Compressed oxygen and other gasses, e.g., in cylinders, canisters, tanks, are alsoNOTpermitted for carriage. Spirit Airlines does not provide supplemental medical oxygen onboard.

It is recommended that the Guest add the POC to their reservation while booking their flight online. If you already have a reservation, call Spirit Airlines at 801.401.2222 or add a POC to your reservation through our My Trips section,at least 48 hours before scheduled departure.

  • Does Spirit charge for assistive devices?

Your assistive devices, including but not limited to, mobility assistive devices, respiratory assistive devices (CPAPs, POCs, etc.), medications, and/or medical supplies, do not count towards your baggage allowance and can be brought on board free of charge as long as the device is packaged separately from regular baggage items. Should any other items be packed with these devices or medications, they will be charged as a carry on or checked bag accordingly. To review our baggage prices, please click here.

To safely be stowed on-board, the device must not exceed 39 x 26 x 11 inches (99 x 116 x 63 cm). Assistive devices larger than this (apart from manually powered wheelchairs - see below for more information) will be checked in at no cost.

We encourage our Guests to carry any assistive devices or medications with them in the cabin.

    Bringing mobility devices on board

For Guests who wish to bring their own mobility devices on board their flight, we are happy to accept them at no charge! Mobility devices, such as canes, will be accepted in the cabin if they can be safely stowed in the overhead compartment or completely underneath the seat in front of the Guest. To safely be stowed in the overhead compartment, the device must be approximately 39 x 26 x 11 inches (99 x 116 x 63 cm). Alternatively, we will check them in at no cost.

We can stow folding manual wheelchairs in the cabin (up to a maximum of two per flight) on a first-come first-serve basis. Please inform the gate agent if you would like this service.

Battery powered wheelchairs cannot be stored in the cabin and must be checked in.

    Checking in mobility devices

Your manual or battery-operated wheelchair or mobility aid can be checked at the ticket counter and/or gate. Detachable items such as seat cushions, removable side-guards and footrests can be carried with you onboard, or they can be stowed with the device in the cargo bin. Please alert a gate agent once arriving to your departure gate that you would like your device checked at the gate and brought back up to you at the gate upon arriving to your destination. Assistive devices are available at the end of the boarding process.

Tip:To assist us in safely loading and unloading your mobility aid, please provide our airport representatives with written instructions for proper handling of your device. We ask that you bring the mobility aid’s user manual, use our Mobility Aid Information form (found below), or design your own instructions. We recommend that you affix the instructions to your device and keep an extra copy for yourself.

Please see the Battery-Powered Wheelchairs and Mobility Aids section for battery and other requirements.

  • Please note that we cannot guarantee an allergen free flight nor are we able to control potential allergens in public areas such as the ticket counters and boarding gates. We ask that any Guests with severe allergies alert our agents and crew upon arrival to the airport and during travel so that we may attempt to accommodate your needs. We strongly encourage Guests to take all necessary medical precautions to prepare for the possibility of exposure to an allergen.

    Peanut allergies

We understand that some of our Guests may have an allergy to peanuts; please note that we do sell peanuts onboard.

In an effort to ensure your well-being, please alert our gate agents and Flight Attendants if you do have an allergy, and we will create a peanut-free buffer-zone for you. This means we will not sell nut products in the row you'll be seated in, the row in front of you, the row behind you, and the adjacent rows to each. The Guests in these rows will also be asked to refrain from consuming peanut-based products. Please note that we are unable to restrict other Guests from bringing and consuming their own peanut products on board and announcements will be made only to those in the buffer-zone.

We cannot guarantee Guests will not be exposed to peanuts or airborne peanut particles during the flight and strongly encourage Guests to take all necessary medical precautions to prepare for the possibility of exposure.

Upon request, we will be happy to allow you or your travel companion to preboard in order to wipe down seats.

    Animal allergies

Spirit allows the transport of service, emotional support/ psychiatric service animals, and pets in the cabin.

For Guests with severe allergies, we will make every attempt to seat you as far away as possible from any animals present on board once it has been brought to our attention. Should that not be possible, we will be happy to accommodate you on a different Spirit flight. Please note that given the functional purpose of some of the animals on board and applicable disability laws, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide advance notice of any animals traveling on a specific flight.

Since we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to an allergen, we strongly encourage our Guests to take all necessary medical precautions to prepare for the possibility of exposure.

  • Battery-powered devices require some special preparation prior to being transported. If you’re traveling with a battery-powered wheelchair or other mobility aid, we encourage you to arrive to the airport at least two hours prior to your scheduled departure time to help ensure proper handling is accomplished.

When we can, we will load and stow your device in an upright position. Generally, we will not need to disassemble the device and the battery will be left attached. If the device cannot be loaded and stowed in an upright position, airport representatives may ask you for instructions on how to disassemble your device. We ask that you complete our Mobility Aid Information form (found below) to provide our airport representatives with assembly/disassembly instructions, and any other helpful information about your device and its battery.

The device’s battery must be identified to our airport representatives as spillable, non-spillable or lithium ion to ensure safe handling and transportation of the battery. It is helpful if you have this information ready and available.

After visual inspection, any battery which is determined to have obvious defects, damage and/or cracks will not be accepted for transportation.

    Spillable Batteries

Wet cell batteries are considered spillable. To be accepted for transportation:

The battery must be disconnected and the terminals insulated to prevent short circuits, and the wheelchair or mobility aid must be loaded, stowed, secured and unloaded in an upright position, or

The battery must be removed and secured upright in a strong, rigid, leak-proof, and properly marked battery box approved by Spirit Airlines. The battery must also be protected against short circuit.

    Non-Spillable Batteries

Dry cell and gel cell batteries are considered non-spillable. To be accepted for transportation, the wheelchair or mobility aid must be positively protected from accidental activation via a Quick-Disconnect mechanism, or the battery must be disconnected and the terminals protected to prevent short circuits. In addition, the battery must:

Be securely attached to the mobility aid, and the wheelchair or mobility aid must be loaded, stowed, secured, and unloaded in an upright position, or

Be removed and placed in a strong, rigid, and properly marked battery box approved by Spirit Airlines.

NOTE: The battery must conform to the requirements of 49 CFR Part 173.159a(d) for non-spillable batteries, and 49 CFR Part 172.102(c)(1), Special provision 130 for dry sealed batteries.

    Lithium Ion Batteries

Lithium ion batteries are classified independently from other battery types. Lithium batteries may overheat and ignite in certain conditions and, once ignited, may be difficult to extinguish. To be accepted for transportation:

Battery terminals must be protected from short circuit (e.g., enclosed within a battery housing), electrical circuits isolated, and the battery must be securely attached to the wheelchair or mobility aid.

The wheelchair or mobility aid must be able to be loaded and stowed in a manner that would prevent its unintentional activation and possible short-circuiting.

If the wheelchair or mobility aid is specifically designed to allow its battery to be removed (e.g., the device is collapsible), the battery must be removed and carried onboard with you. When a lithium ion battery is removed from the device, the following must conditions must be met:

The battery cannot exceed 300-watt hours (Wh).

NOTE: If you are unsure of the watt-hour rating of your lithium ion battery, contact the manufacturer of your device. Lithium ion batteries manufactured after January 1, 2009, are required to be marked with the watt-hour rating.

You must provide a Spirit representative with instructions for proper removal of the battery from the wheelchair or mobility aid.

The battery terminals must be protected from short circuit by placement in original retail packaging or by insulating the terminal (e.g. taping over exposed terminals or placing each battery in a separate plastic bag or protective pouch).

If the battery is not specifically designed to be removed, Federal Regulations allow for one large lithium ion battery to be transported installed in a wheelchair or mobility aid. In this case, there is no watt hour limit for the battery installed in the device.

NOTE: The battery must have successfully passed each test in the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria as specified in 49 CFR Part 173.185, unless it was approved by the Associate Administrator.

Spare or Removed Lithium Ion Batteries

Spare lithium ion batteries and lithium ion batteries which have been removed from your wheelchair or mobility aid, must be carried onboard with you.

Customers are permitted to carry one (1) spare or removed battery, which must not exceed 300 watt hours, or up to two (2) spare or removed batteries, which must not exceed 160 watt hours each.

Spare batteries must be effectively protected against short circuiting by:

Packing each battery or each battery-powered device, in a fully enclosed inner packaging made of non-conductive material (such as a plastic bag).

Separating or packing batteries in a manner to prevent contact with other batteries, devices or conductive materials (e.g., metal) in the packaging.

Ensuring that exposed terminals or connectors are protected with non-conductive caps/tape.

For more information about traveling safely with batteries, please go to the FAA's website.

Tip:To assist us in safely loading and unloading your mobility aid, please provide our airport Spirit representatives with written instructions for proper handling of your device. We ask that you to bring the mobility aid’s user manual, use our Mobility Aid Information form (found below), or design your own instructions. Fill out as much information as possible and bring it with you on the day of your travel. We recommend that you affix the instructions to your device and keep an extra copy for yourself.

  • PRO TIP: You must check in with an agent if you are traveling with an infant on your lap. Please review the FAQ article " What time do I need to arrive at the airport for my flight? " for specific arrival guidelines for your airport.

For some additional tips for traveling with kids, check out the attached document at the bottom of the article.

From 7 days old until his/hersecond birthday (age 7 days to 23 months), a child is considered a lap child and does not need a paid seat; however, guests may opt to buy a seat for the infant if they prefer.

Per federal regulations, once a child has their second birthday (24 months and older), they are no longer considered a lap child and a seat must be purchased in order for them to travel. If a child has their second birthday between the outbound and return flight, a seat will need to be purchased for the return flight.

Spirit reserves the right to request documented proof of age for any traveler 2 years old or younger. Please be prepared to provide documentation (birth certificate, passport, etc.) upon request.

As long as your infant is over 7 days old and under 2 years old and is traveling with someone who is at least 15 years old, you are not required to purchase a seat for them and can carry them in your lap free of charge.

    Guidelines

Only one lap child is allowed per guest 15 years of age or older.

An infant, age 7 days or less or an infant requiring an incubator or other life-support system, cannot be accepted for travel and will be denied boarding.

Lap children and children in car seats are not allowed to be in the emergency exit rows or in the row in front or behind the emergency exit row.

Lap children and children in car seats are not permitted to occupy a seat equipped with an inflatable seatbelt.

Taxes and fees may apply for the infant, depending on destination.

You can add a lap child while booking online or through our other reservation channels.

If you plan to bring a child restraint seat, please review the requirements.

    To accommodate a guest of size who encroaches on an adjacent seat area and/or is unable to sit in a single seat with the armrests lowered;

    To transport a guest who, because of his or her particular disability, would be unable to travel without the purchase of additional space on the aircraft;

To transport large musical instruments or electronic audio/video, medical, or other sensitive equipment unsuitable for carriage as checked baggage, as specified in the Contract of Carriage

You can purchase an extra seat by using your name for both tickets and selecting the desired seat assignments.

  • We will happily check one stroller and one car seat per child for no extra cost at the ticket counter. If you are traveling with two children, you are more than welcome to check a double stroller instead. You may also check these items at the gate. We’ll have them waiting for you in your arrival city when you get off the aircraft.

You’re welcome to bring an FAA-approved child restraint system (car seat) or an FAA-approved Child Harness Device (CARES) onboard as long as a separate seat has been purchased for the child. We will do our best to reseat you to an open seat (not including our Big Front Seats) if the car seat is too large for a regular seat.

Some FAA approved car seats may not always fit in certain Spirit Airlines aircraft seats. Car seats may not be accommodated in any seat equipped with an inflatable seat belt. Additionally, car seats may not be secured in an exit seat or the row before or after the exit seats. Keep in mind that our Big Front Seats are a premium product and are available for an additional charge.

Follow the onscreen directions, and grab your bag tags. They’ll print automatically. Tag your own bag, by first removing any old tags, and then following the three easy steps below:

Loop the bag tag through a sturdy handle on your bag.

Peel off the yellow portion and keep it as your claim check.

Stick the ends of the tag together.

    Pro Tips

Don’t wait to pay for bags at the airport! Save by paying for your bags online.

Weigh your bags! Pay any overweight charges at the kiosk. It’s faster than the Agent Assistance queue.

Overweight charges apply to bags weighing over 40 pounds.

Place a name tag on your bag with contact info. Don’t worry, if you don’t have one. We have plenty at the airport.

  • The best times to purchase a ticket at the airport are during the preferred ticketing hours. Even during the preferred ticketing hours, we can’t guarantee that there won’t be a long wait due to the unpredictable nature of the airport. The quickest and easiest way to book is on Spirit.com.

  • You betcha! Put them in a bag and get ready to hit the slopes, or the lake. Ski equipment (water or snow) is charged as a standard checked bag. Please be mindful overweight (over 40 pounds /18.1 kg) and oversized (over 62 inches / 157.48) baggage costs more.

One (1) item of checked ski/snowboard equipment counts as one (1) checked bag and includes:

1 pair of skis, 1 pair of ski poles and 1 pair of ski boots, or

1 snowboard and 1 pair of snowboard boots.

If the ski/snowboard boots are packed separately, they must be in a sku/snowboard boot bag to be considered part of the 1 piece of checked baggage. Loose (unpacked_ ski/snowboards boots are not accepted as checked baggage.

A limited liability release will need to be signed when traveling with skis or snowboards.
