I like working here and I'm very happy to have joined. The overall company culture is great and there are a lot of great people here. There is a strong emphasis on personal development and a lot of resources are provided to that end.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The teams have a lot of autonomy and they all seem to have their own "personality".
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Stack has an inclusive culture. People seem pretty grounded and courteous. There isn't a lot of interrupting or abrasive personalities. From what I can tell, people are comfortable speaking up without fear of repercussions.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The leadership team's communication is clear and often. From what I can tell, they are transparent with our challenges as a company. There are also "office hours" sessions in our calendars that we can drop in on to interact with the leadership team.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The money is fair, but my favourite part is the vacation schedule. There are a number of company days off, we get some extra afternoons in the summer, and extra time between Christmas and New Years on top of our regular vacation days.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Our code base is older and large. It takes some history with it to to be successful. I haven't yet been able to just sit down and crunch through solid tasks. Everything takes a lot of figuring out and discussion and it isn't very satisfying to work in.
