Stop & Shop Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Friendly and willing to help each other. I can reach out for help with a quick phone call and either have my questions answered or will get information on who I can reach out to get them answered.

Review from Operations Dept

Everyone is close and cares about each other.

Review from Operations Dept

Everyone has a clear vision of the store level expectation

Easy to form bonds with the folks you work with on a daily basis based on the common goal we are all chasing.

Review from Operations Dept

stop and shop really cares on the well-being of their associates. ensure all are well trained and provides help when needed.

Review from Operations Dept

When a challenge arises everyone comes together to get it done

Review from Operations Dept

Everyone's moral is high on a daily basis

Everyone wants to do it right the first time.

Review from Operations Dept

Very focused on customer service and being helpful

Review from Operations Dept

There is an emphasis on caring about our Associates and how we can improve the work environment.

Review from Operations Dept

the most positive about the culture and environment is team effort and to go above and beyond for our customers

Review from Operations Dept

The overall team atmosphere and willingness to help

Review from Operations Dept

For the most part when I come into work everyone is generally happy to be there and to be working. There are bad days like in any company but as a team we all work together to make it better.

Review from Operations Dept

I like the support that everyone gives each other. i like how they communicate and help you understand things

Review from Operations Dept

Willingness to work together. I think this district does a great job of working together even if we?

Review from Operations Dept

We all have the same end goal and are helpful towards one another in actively aiming to achieve it.

The smiles that are on everyones faces no matter what stop and shop you go to.

Review from Operations Dept

friendly, caring, teamwork, one team

Review from HR Dept

A lot of the employees has been with the company for a quite sometime.

Review from Operations Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

a clear definition of the brand and its meaning. showcase what it supposed to feel like and empower associates to carry the brand meaning to the customers. there is not much culture, there needs to be clear one defined.

training, succession plans, operational excellence

Upper Leadership lacks kindness and leads through fear

Review from HR Dept

no union. fulltimers working a full sunday when needed and it as part of the work week. way too many times do they just focus on themselves and work a 7am-11am or noon shift and leave THEIR departments shorthanded

Review from Operations Dept

More hours per dept. I constantly hear how things used to be before Ahold, and that the job expectation is the same but with less hours.

Review from Operations Dept

The upper leadership of the locations drive a negative culture between people union and non. There is no team spirit. There is no adequate training. It is a toss them in and see if they survive type of environment. Vinegar is used rather than honey, which drives many people away.

Review from Operations Dept

We focus on the wrong things. We focus more on being inclusive and diverse (which is important) than taking care of our customers. We say that the customer matters but we constantly hear complaints about not having product or pricing and do nothing to combat that issue.

Review from Operations Dept

social engagement , appreciation for team members

Leadership. There are far to many redundant audits that cause undue stress on store management.

Review from Operations Dept

Refer to previous feedback please

Review from Operations Dept

Have a better discount. show that the company cares about employees by giving a discount that actually covers/helps with your grocery shopping. I find a lot of employees will shop somewhere else because it is to expensive at stop and shop.

Review from Operations Dept

Be realistic with day to day concerns

Review from Operations Dept

mix up the staffing. Don't put all positive, A players together and negative B players together

Review from Operations Dept

positivity within the teams and being able to build good character. Letting our teams have some creativity with what we are doing for merchandising to bring in customers and keep fresh ideas coming in. To by the books in everything.

Make it about the associates and customers more . we dont do a good job at it

A total revamp of Priorities. We are concerned about failing an audit because we use a dash vs a checkmark on an audit. The current structure wants robots that follow plans with no thought to store differences and customer differences at each store. The company lost its kindness

Review from Operations Dept

The company talks about how we need to treat the associates to improve moral and increase retention but they fail to do the same with their own exempt staff. Too often upper mgmt will visit a store and be highly critical with no suggestion of ways to improve or to ask how to help fix what's broken.

Review from Operations Dept

the stress level is way high.

Review from Operations Dept

Need to boost morale and not have stores with all the A players and other stores with all the C players. Needs to be mixed up

Review from Operations Dept

Reduce the amount of tasks that takes us away from the sales floor.
