The clientele The Breakers brings in isn't the average clientele. Dealing with premium guest with all there premium request should allow staff to get paid more. Higher pay is needed to compensate for what we deal with.
Not so much undervalued but struggling to keep up with the continuous rise in cost of living in South Florida.
For all the work and responsibility we have as team members in our department, our pay is not what it should be. We deal with a lot of stress, high revenue guests and a lot of day to day responsibilities regarding the guest stay and the pay does not reflect
We see what our guests are paying for room rates, food, etc. and how much it has grown over the years. While we receive generous raises, it does not compete with rising inflation and cost of living in Florida. Post Covid, we have significantly less benefits for the team members.
