Obvious bias based on personal relationships, gender, and race. On paper I am qualified for open requisitions I apply to. However, the individual hired is usually a white male that doesn't even meet the minimum qualifications. The applicant is always chosen because of personal preference. So sad.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Immediate department work well together.
What makes you most happy at work?
Just happy that I have a job. Happiness ended with forced relocation.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Direct leadership team is good, but my manager is required to oversee 2 different departments, resulting in limited time to develop our team. Can't accomplish much if always required to be in meetings.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
I once enjoy co-worker interaction, that is until a manager I don't report to told me I couldn't talk to team members below my pay scale. Basically, she didn't want African American females to interact with each other. Extremely uncomfortable situation.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
A company of this size should offer employees the ability to purchase atock at discounted rates. The company should contribute to student loan repayment. Tuition assistance is rarely because most jobs require you to already have a degree before securing the position. They have to realize this.
