Very happy with my insurance coverage. A free pet policy per employee is also great. Overall pleased with benefits, especially for an entry level position.

We're given a good amount of PTO, and we're expected to use it! Love the fully-paid health/vision/dental insurance for employees. Also the fully-paid pet medical insurance for one of my pets.

Hourly pay is less than it should be for service and sales roles
Pay is well below industry standard. Our bonuses used to make up some of it, but they've changed how that is given out. You can also always tell with the company is trying to balance their budget, as the corporate goals drop to 30% or less, so everyone's bonuses are significantly lower.
The company regularly states that they don't believe in market compensation. If you work here you will be paid significantly less cash and stock than you could make for the same job anywhere else (in a far healthier work environment).
Pay is very low compared to cost of living in seattle
Paying inline w/ith market. Constantly the company talks about paying inline with measurable value. But there is no transparency into how the most highly compensated employees are valued and remarkably, their value doesnt shift yearly despite for some, dramatic changes in responsibility
They pay far below market value. Forget about getting yearly raises or bonuses unless you are part of senior leadsership.
I have been consistently underpaid throughout my time at Trupanion and compensation is not equitable. Trupanion will grant additional RSUs occasionally but it feels like an admission of guilt after reviewing performance and still not increasing salary.
Our compensation philosophy is outdated and unfair. We don't look at or care about market, benchmarking, etc. It very hard to hire talent because we don't care about being competitive with other organizations or in a market.
pay is far below what my skills are worth and what comparable companies offer for similar roles
A better starting base wage, less reliance on pay for performance as bonuses are too flexible for planning.
Benefit is horrible. You have to pay additional for your wife/husband. In Seattle, Trupanion really paid the minimum for their employees to get by.
No 401k match (which is very typical in Seattle). Senior software engineer pay is like new grad pay in most of the seattle Tech company.
Managers fail to recognize people talents because they don't want to pay more money. They want to use pets as an excuse why people should work for them without paying then well.
Annual rate of inflation increases (at minimum)
