Everyone is so nice and friendly and seems like everyone is willing to help out even across teams. I feel that Trupanion has a very inclusive environment and listens to everyone's inputs and ideas.

Pet passion permeates everything. The pet-friendly mindset makes an environment where you feel comfortable talking about yourself and life. I think it also helps us not to take everything so seriously, when you're in a meeting and a cat/dog does something funny in the background.

I work at my own pace and that makes me more effective than working the hours someone else dictates. Ironically, it makes me actually work more hours than I stated but I don't have to document so the amount of hours per day is likely double. I don't keep track of how much more.

People need to be trusted. The bonus process demonstrates a lack of trust for people to work honestly, and the way that goals are picked apart at the end of each month is tiresome and discouraging.
They gave the worst keyboard and mouse (amazon baisc) to their software engineer. No standing desk or chair when the whole company switch to WFH for 1 and half year. Employees have to buy their own desk and chair for IT department.
Please hire new people. The PM I worked with doesn't know anything and she has been at the company forever.
