We've brought in some new leadership in the last few years that, in my opinion, have been already making a great impact
They are approachable and knowledgable
They are very supportive and helpful
The executive leadership is completely unqualified for their positions. They may have been great when the company was a small startup, but have continued to be promoted well past their ability to lead a company of this size.
Leadership is transparent with where we're at and why we're doing what we're doing.
Needs insurance training and financial training
Review from Operations Dept
Leadership needs to be more concerned with the way that policy/procedure changes affect the employee workflow/work experience. Many changes have been made recently that make my job harder/take longer/more effort.

Everything. The put more value on show over substance. They push quality long term employees out if they dare question decisions. They often make rash, rushed decisions to push through products and policies without much thinking. If you don't drink the "culture coolaide" consider your time limited.
more efficient decision making, setting vision and not micromanaging, treating people fairly and ethically
Listening to employee feedback and taking action. Learning about what is currently important to employees and potential employees. They work in a silo of their own perception which is just not reality. They need to learn to ask for and receive help from the smart people who work here.
Free pet insurance for one pet.
One pet get free insurance coverage

Bonuses are paid monthly rather than annually
Bonuses for meeting metrics and over time opportunties
Very happy with my insurance coverage. A free pet policy per employee is also great. Overall pleased with benefits, especially for an entry level position.

Hourly pay is less than it should be for service and sales roles
Pay is well below industry standard. Our bonuses used to make up some of it, but they've changed how that is given out. You can also always tell with the company is trying to balance their budget, as the corporate goals drop to 30% or less, so everyone's bonuses are significantly lower.
The company regularly states that they don't believe in market compensation. If you work here you will be paid significantly less cash and stock than you could make for the same job anywhere else (in a far healthier work environment).
Pay is very low compared to cost of living in seattle
Paying inline w/ith market. Constantly the company talks about paying inline with measurable value. But there is no transparency into how the most highly compensated employees are valued and remarkably, their value doesnt shift yearly despite for some, dramatic changes in responsibility
My team comprised some of the most multi-talented social media experts I’ve had the privilege to lead. They approached challenges with both logic and empathy, communicated clearly, and supported one another. It pains me to see them now constrained by ineffective managemen

They are so talented, efficient and flexible.

I work in a team of high performing individuals that collaborate well and also know how to have fun
The people I work with and my teammates who despite the randomization of our leadership continue to get things done.
Nobody is happy here. Leadership is so bad, that employee morale couldn't be worse. It's not a fun environment-- everybody hates leadership, especially local workers who now have to forfeit time and money by going into the office when they were previously told they could work remote indefinitely
Review from Marketing Dept
Caring more about their team in leadership roles would be nice. It's nice they're paid high 5 to 6 figure salaries but we're all suffering at the bottom.
Please hire more diversity. I worked in IT, 95% of the senior software engineer are men. I was the only colored woman on the team. Everyone there either worked for more than 5 years or they have been there when the company started so they have their own group and don't really listen to you.
Too much meeting. Business people are the one that's driving the features but they don't understand what it takes to implement.
Better Transparency and clear communication
We're pet-obsessed, cats and dogs are in our work meetings, in the lunch room, and in our email signatures.
Accepting and open to all types of people
Everyone is so nice and friendly and seems like everyone is willing to help out even across teams. I feel that Trupanion has a very inclusive environment and listens to everyone's inputs and ideas.
The pets, co-workers and free insurance for yourself and one pet.
We get to work from home.
People need to be trusted. The bonus process demonstrates a lack of trust for people to work honestly, and the way that goals are picked apart at the end of each month is tiresome and discouraging.
They gave the worst keyboard and mouse (amazon baisc) to their software engineer. No standing desk or chair when the whole company switch to WFH for 1 and half year. Employees have to buy their own desk and chair for IT department.
Please hire new people. The PM I worked with doesn't know anything and she has been at the company forever.
Fairly straight forward and typical
I was able to interview with the team I woukd be leading.
Meeting with the team I would be managing was a nice change.
The interviewers were not too intimidating
Meeting with current employees in the role
It's very easy. Most business questions from business people.
Improve your interview process. Don't hire business people as the leadership for your IT department.
Getting to work autonomously, be creative, try new things, and work for a mission I am passionate about
I love the relationships ive built with my team members
I love working with others on my team and supporting others where I can. I like the amount of trust and autonomy I receive.
Spending time with my team and peers.
I feel appreciated and I know that what I do makes a difference

The change in leadership was when I noticed things going downhill. Incompetent people running things and hiring more incompetent people to manage.
Leadership has no idea what they are doing. They are motivated by their own success only. Apparently extra marital affairs and lap dances at company functions are the way to success.
the culture is toxic and burns out good people regularly
Very expensive policies, per condition deductibles piss people off and aren't properly explained by sales. Most policy holders have no idea what they're paying for. Preexisting conditions will make insurance not worth it.
Listen to your customer. Hire more software engineer to improve your software. The trupanion software is a joke and could use a lot rebuilt.
The product and mission, but also my colleagues

Please hire people with technical background for your IT department leadership team.
It’s inovative, best in the industry, I am alwaysed impressed
company culture, more accountability for unproductive and abusive behaviors
Competitive base salaries and slower, more thoughtful change. The marketing/revenue teams seem to reorg every 3 months. It's extremely disruptive.

Please hire more women to be software engineer in your IT department. Not just hire woman as business or program manager for IT.
We need to step it up with technology
