View ArticlePlagiarism is any act claiming or implying another persons work is your own. Plagiarism at Udacity can range from submitting a project you didnt create to copying code into a program without citation. Any action in which you misleadingly claim an idea or piece of work as your own when it is not constitutes plagiarism.
The below are some coding-specific examples of what constitutes plagiarism on the Udacity platform and what Udacity considers to be acceptable behavior, as well as some guidelines for submitting original work. While specific to coding, the below concepts can also apply to written content, images, UI designs, and other content created by another person. Please also note that these examples are not meant to be exhaustive, and Udacity reserves the right to take action, as it deems appropriate, if it appears that your submission is, in any way, not your own work.
Examples of plagiarism:
Copying someones code exactly, in whole or part (verbatim).
Combining code copied verbatim from multiple sources.
Copying someones code, in whole or part, and making changes (e.g. changing variable or function names, comments, order of function definition).
Two or more students who work on a project together and end up with the identical code submission, or significant portions of their submissions show duplicated code.
Not Plagiarism:
Looking at someone elses code to get a general idea of implementation, then putting it away and starting to write your own code from scratch.
Copying code or using code that has been provided for you and approved for use in your project by Udacity without attribution.
Two or more students who discuss a project together to get a general idea of implementation, then separate to each write their own code individually.
Using or adapting and then properly attributing (give date and URL) a small piece of helper code, either open source or written by someone else who has provided their consent to such use and/or adaptation. The helper code must not be directly relevant to the concepts being assessed in your assignment.

For any Services or products that are provided on an automatic subscription basis, unless otherwise specified during enrollment, your first monthly payment will be charged to your payment method upon your purchase date. Upon completion of your purchase, your access to the Nanodegree program begins, and so does the 7-day refund period. At the time of the first scheduled payment your payment method will be charged and your automatic-renewal subscription will start; as does the 7-day refund period at that time. You may not receive a notice from us that your 7-day refund period has ended or that the subscription-based payments have begun. Your subscription will continue on a month-to-month basis with recurring payments unless and until you cancel, are removed, or graduate. You agree to pay the then current applicable monthly payment.
After the first month automated subscription payment, for each subsequent month, the monthly fee will automatically be billed on the monthly anniversary date of your initial credit card charge date (Billing Date). For example, if you begin a paid subscription on January 5th, you will be charged on subsequent monthly anniversary your purchase date; therefore you would be billed January 5th for the first month and your Billing Date will be the 5th of each subsequent month until you cancel or are removed from the Nanodegree program or graduate. For certain months, your Billing Date may vary slightly if your Billing Date does not have a corresponding date the following month for example if the first charge was made on January 31st you will be billed on February 28th, and then on March 31st the following month. Failure to pay may result in the termination of your subscription.

Each of your projects will have suggested deadlines, but those deadlines are not required. The deadlines are intended to help keep you on track, to make sure you are successful in the program and reach your goals. You can always keep paying per month if you need more time to complete your Nanodegree program.
Term-based Nanodegree Programs:
If you are in a term-based Nanodegree program, there are two types of deadlines:
Ongoing suggested deadlines for individual projects. The deadlines you see in your classroom are suggestions for when you should ideally pass each project. These "soft"deadlines are recommendations to help ensure you work at an appropriate pace in order to graduate on time.
A final term deadline for passing all projects in the Nanodegree program. This is the date by which you must have submitted a passing version of every required project in your Nanodegree program. Passing a project in this context means that a Udacity reviewer has marked all of your required projects as Meets Specifications by the final term deadline. This final, absolute deadline is the last day on which you can still submit any projects. Thisdeadline is enforced and can be found at the bottom of yourclassroom.
As long as you submit a passing version of every required project by your final term deadline, your project deadlines can be disregarded. It is very important to understand the distinction between the two, asprojectdeadlines are optional (though recommended) while final termdeadlines (sometimes also known asterm end dates) are absolute and not optional.
View ArticleIn order to comply with the California educational regulations, Udacity must limit paid subscriptions for California residents to a period of six (6) months (at current rate of $399) to any individual Nanodegree program.
At the end of the six month period, California-resident students will no longer have paid-access to such program. However, Udacity will provide, at no charge, a grace period of thirty (30) days for California-resident students to complete any outstanding projects. After the grace period, Students will have continued static access to course content consistent with Udacitys policies, which means that Students will have access to the existing course content (not updated content) and all of the completed projects, and Students will not have access to student services such as community channels, project reviews, mentor or career support services, workspaces, labs, or quizzes.
Based on our data, we estimate that students can complete any program in four (4) months working 10 hours per week.
All other policies on subscription access shall otherwise be available to California residents. Please note that this limitation is assessed on a program-by-program basis. This means that if you are subscribed to more than one Nanodegree program, service limitations will only apply based on the start date of each individual Nanodegree program.

In Student Hub, you will find and chat with your mentor in a dedicated messaging channel and can also set up time for calls.
You can access Student Hub through the classroom or by visiting this link, where you can find and chat with your mentor in a dedicated messaging channel. You may chat with your mentor there and can set up time for calls.
View ArticlePlease note that this only applies to our old term-based Nanodegree programs. Since we have moved to a subscription program, this does not apply anymore to students enrolled past May 1, 2019.This also means that those still enrolled in our old term-based Nanodegree programs are limited to whatever open classes we have left for that old model.
Not all students are on track to complete theirprogram on time. In those cases, some students in certainprograms may receive an email fromUdacity offering them the option to switch to a later class of their program. This essentially pushes back the student's term end date, which means the student gets more time to submit any projects. In other words, a class switch allows students with active enrollments to delay when their term ends. This can only be done once during yourNanodegree program. Any project progress made in the program will be saved, so long as project details have not substantially changed for the new class.
Exclusions to this class switching policy do apply. The following students do not qualify for this class switch offer:
International students in China, Brazil, India, Middle East/Africa
Scholarship students
Enterprise students
Students in a subscription-based enrollments
Students whose terms have already ended
Students who have already been transferred into a later class before
Please note that in order to redeem the class switch offer, you must reply directly to the email you received from Udacity. The offer applies to the specificprogram named in the email.

If you purchase on a month-by-month basis, you can cancel at any time. You will then move to static access at the end of the billing cycle. Any time after that, you can re-purchase a subscription at any time.
