Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

2 years ago I joined a scrappy startup with a flat, open culture and a beautiful product vision. Now I work for a wannabe corporation whose CEO has lost control to bullies in suits looking for their next cash cow. I still believe in the vision so I keep my head down and produce the best work I can.

As a minority, I find it difficult to be open about my experiences and they are often dismissed. The compensation and benefits are great though. Expect to work hard and be rewarded for it. Culture claims to be startup-like but is decidedly corporate.

The company culture is great. Friendly and supportive.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Genuine excitement about and belief in our products and offerings.

Solving problems for our clients and showing them that the future is RPA.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

We're usually scattered working with clients. We need some time to work together.

Seeing my teammates shine when they use their expertise to meet our clients' needs.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Not competitive. We're a family who always help each other and proactively share our latest insights.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Promoting internal talent as part of our growth, rather than adding new leadership that is not yet familiar with our culture.

What did you like most about the interview process?

I spoke to several different people from several different teams and got a good feel for the culture of the company.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

It's a fast-paced atmosphere and we don't always have time to congratulate each other on a job well done, even if the salary is nice.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

It's hard to pick a best part - Free gym membership? Free phone plan? Incredible healthcare for me and my family? Competitive salary? UiPath takes care of its people.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

I look forward to coming to the office and spending time with my team. We're always travelling and meeting with clients, and I miss them like I miss my family!

What do you like best about the leadership team?

We've grown a lot but we still act like a product startup. By that, I mean that Daniel Dines is hands-on and in the weeds with the UiPath product and developer teams.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

FREE MONEY each month for wellness activities. I can decide if I want to spend it on a traditional gym membership, or something that suits my needs better like massages, yoga, dance, acupuncture...

What are some of the best things about your team?

Individual contributors keep the culture alive. They are all smart, humble, immersed individuals that strive to complete their tasks quickly and transparently. I wish I could say the same of our leadership team.

What makes you most happy at work?

Solving problems and removing technical roadblocks for my clients so that they can use our product to its fullest capabilities, see the value of automation, and save themselves time spent on repetitive, boring tasks.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

If you are lucky with your manager, you get a lot of autonomy and freedom to work from home. This can be extremely beneficial if you want to stay away from the office and its politics.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Better organizational structure and communication lines. Rapid increase in new products requires all client-facing roles to be jacks of all trades. Lots of training material has been provided which is great, but it's not tenable for everyone to know everything once our suite reaches a certain size.
