What is the best part about your compensation package?

I like how I am paid for short-notice classes.

I'm a contractor, so my compensation isn't really a "package". That being said, I appreciate that if you work, you get paid, and that you get paid for showing up even if your student doesn't that day.

I wish VIPKID offered more benefits for their teachers, but since we're considered independent contractors we don't have any extra benefits. I do like the flexibility and freedom to create my own schedule.

The compensation is straightforward. Employees are really independent contractors, so we do not receive benefits. However, we are paid fairly and there are many incentives provided so we can earn bonuses.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

VIPKid has been chipping away at teacher pay since its CEO got greedy. Stop with the insulting "incentives" like tokens and dumbass paper cutouts. Give us more money.

The compensation does not justify the additional time required to prepare for class and to give feedback to the parents.

They used to do way more incentives for actual teaching, but now it is mostly focused on referrals. I would enjoy the ability to increase my pay or earn a bonus based on doing good work, not just recruiting others.

The penalization for family emergencies are a little ridiculous. People have children pass away or have terminal illnesses and are fired. There needs to be a better call off policy
