What's the office layout like at TokBox?
Open floor plan
Open plan with a variety of closed offices and conference rooms for deep focus and private meetings. Lots of common spaces for sharing meals, brainstorming idea, having a coffee and chat, etc. We also have a "fun" area at the back of the office with a ping pong table, video games, and yoga
Open office with a decent number of conference rooms. There is a nice room for new mothers as well

WebRTC has arrived and it's growing rapidly. It's an exciting time to be here!

How's the work life balance at TokBox?
Great! As long as you get your work done, they don't bother you. They also are attracted to people who have a work/life balance because that is the culture here.

Does TokBox have any remote positions?
Not really. We have different offices but everyone works from an office.

How does TokBox make decisions around promotions?
By your work quality and interactions with others.
This process isn't very transparent. In the past, we've worked with Telefonica to have a 360 review preceding the promotion of the employee in question, but with the changes in the parent company those conversations don't get picked up after they've started. There also seems to be an arbitrary limit on the number of people in a department who can receive a promotion at a time. If there are two very well-qualified employees, one will be chosen over the other without much clarity. I've seen employees leave TokBox for this reason, which is pretty disappointing.
How's the vacation policy at TokBox?
Very generous.
Very good - 20 days of paid vacation per year, with rollover of any you don't use. There is a limit, however, of 30 vacation days with rollover so you're definitely encouraged to use your PTO.

What is the onboarding process like at Vonage and how long does it last?
My onboarding experience was very good and the first phase lasted all of 4 weeks. I am now on to the second and final phase of onboarding which is specific to my role.

Vonage is very innovative and holds many patents in Voice, Contact Center and API technologies and processes.
