How employees describe working at 8x8
I have worked at Fuze for many years and have been given opportunities to further my career and challenge me in ways I never thought I would at a company of our size. My loyalty has stemmed from these opportunities coupled with above average work/life balance and work from anywhere policy.
Review from Sales Dept
We have a great office environment, even during the pandemic. The job is challenging enough in a way that we can learn a lot at the same time that we build stronger skills. At this moment, there's no where else I'd rather be
Review from Engineering Dept

What are your coworkers at Fuze like?
Top Employee Response
Professional but fun. Focused and knowledgeable.
Depends on your department / manager. The company likes to really drive home that work can be done from anywhere (hence our marketing campaigns), yet some departments cannot take advantage of this due to personal views of managers.
Smart, dedicated, professional.
How's the morale at Fuze?
Top Employee Response
Really terrific! This company has a great leadership team and core culture. We are growing at 50% a year. It's really collegial at Fuze, the CEO is super personable and really cares about employees. We have a lot of communication about what's going on with the company, and great social events.
Morale has been increasing. The new leadership team has been making a variety of changes to improve the culture including the new office in Copley Square, regular communication through Town Hall meetings, tons of fun events and volunteer activities.
Like at any company, it depends on who you ask but overall people here are smart, dedicated, and willing to help.
What's the office layout like at Fuze?
Top Employee Response
Open floor plan, with cubbies and some private offices, lots of windows, great location in downtown Boston
The new HQ space is open and bright. Very few people have offices and all desks are spread out in an open layout. They are different conference rooms, huddle spaces, and collab spaces to take a call, meet with coworkers, etc.
Open and spacious. Lot's of light but I'd actually prefer a few more walls. The open collab areas are kind of silly. If you want to get away from your desk for a call or something, they sort or help but if you actually want to collaborate with people in person it's too disruptive to others around you.
What part of 8x8's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
Very easy to say it is lagging just check revenue and equity growth the past 24 months
Growing at less than half the pace of its biggest competitor. Not good.
Hard to say but 8x8 is lagging growth figures of its competitors
What's the company culture like at Fuze?
Top Employee Response
Great! Flexible and supportive with opportunities to collaborate with a lot of great people.
Professional and driven but friendly enough.
Depends greatly on department, location, co-workers, & manager. Overall, I've been on three teams - business development, account management, and regional sales in an auxiliary office. Each team has had their own dynamic but for the most part the teams are young, it's an aggressive sales environment, and fun!
What benefits does Fuze provide?
Health, dental, life, unlimited paid time off, work from any office, relatively flexible work from home, other voluntary things if you want to sign up for them like pet insurance...
all the standard benefits, plus unlimited vacation, tuition reimbursement, no dress code, flexible hours, work remotely, will pay for certifications, free breakfast, free food, happy hour, health, dental, life, etc. 401K
What part of Fuze's business is growing fastest? What part is having difficulties?
The entire business is growing
Bookings to activations are growing fastest, which is good for revenue. Sales is rebuilding so bookings have struggled in 2017, as compared to 2016.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Fuze?
Sometimes we could be better at planning ahead and anticipating things.
Sales has been, and still is extremely cut-throat. As a result, there has been high churn. Help your people be successful and not constantly be worrying about losing their jobs.
What do people at Fuze think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Top Employee Response
Colin is beloved here. He communicates really honestly and often about the company and our business. He knows people by name and talks to people wherever he goes. He has a great sense of humor and we all appreciate how he recognizes people, especially unsung heroes like our support department
Very accomplished executive in the tech world. He was brought in the either sell the company or take it public. My experience with him has been very positive!
Does Fuze have any remote positions?
yes, we have a work from anywhere philsophy. many jobs can be done from home or remotely
Yes, many teams are remote.
How does Fuze make decisions around promotions?
departments decide, with HR oversight. We are often promoting people from within because we are growing so fast
Mostly around performance & attitude, but some people are able to schmooze with management to earn a fast-track promotion.
What are your coworkers at 8x8 like?
Nice people in the worker bee ranks. Exec team and management is terrible.
Good people who all wonder wth is up with culture and leadership
How are the career growth opportunities on the Engineering team at Fuze?
mixed, there aren't a lot of new positions/churn to move up but if you want to pick up something new (and there is a need for it) Fuze encourages and supports it. You won't often get a new title but you can pick up new skills.
Does Fuze drug test or do a background check?
no, they'll check references but not a CORI check or anything like that.
