Listen to the employees, pay us a living wage, communicate with us like human beings, stop the corporatese evasion, provide clear expectations and pathways to promotion, follow through on DEI lipservice to actually support marginalized colleagues, pay us a living wage that keeps up with COL

Fix the culture. Start with making it less "power-point" driven and more action oriented. Inspire people to manage down, not manage up. Put some limits on how powerful HR is. The company is practically run by HR and finance and they get in the way of people who are actually getting work done

Cultivate more sensitivity to employees needs

Wiley PTO policy is excellent

The insurance is Aetna, and I have personally had few issues with them. YMMV, but as a trans person, it is reassuring to know my insurance at least covers the care I need. The OOP cost is comparable to other companies.

it pays a lot of money and gives a lot of benefits

In a tough economy, I am managing -- able to provide a comfort level to my family and I am able to help/give to others.

I feel as a south african citizen I'm not well recognized and no opportunity for growth

At this point in my career, it is not longer about compensation. I know I can get higher compensation somewhere else. it is making an impact and be excited about the mission.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

people care from the top down

We are mostly all remote, so company culture is pretty nonexistent, beyond some lame attempts at raising company spirits with rewards programs and rah rah town halls. The people themselves are much better, and I've never worked with so many fellow LGBTQ folks, so that's great.

Pleasant environment despite the fast pace to reach our goals.

CEO needs to address the problem of HR being too powerful and putting obstacles for others to do their work

Hire execs that know the business. Involve middle and senior managers more in leadership's thinking. Make sure objectives are actually transformed into individual team functions and projects. Stop outsourcing roles that are strategic.

my coworkers are great people

Working with my team and presenting an outstanding web-native platform to computer science instructors and hearing how we make their jobs better and their students' learning experience better.

The projects are generally interesting and intellectually challenging.
