Williams-Sonoma Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Care about work we do and we can convey our skills and knowledge to customers. There is a sense or apathy due to poor compensation and lack of benefits. There arecno incentives to go above and beyond

Some coworkers try to be positive and realistic.

They all treat you with respect and care and concern

Review from Customer Support Dept

The friendships I make with fellow employees. We often commiserate about how terrible it is to work there and how much we resent it.

it was very friendly while it lasted

Everyone comes from a different culture and that makes a beautiful work culture

Everyone is willing to help each other.

Working from home flexibility is great

They strive for philanthropy, but lost sight by doing dination campaigns at the register.... and task customers and employees to drive donations

Donations to charities happen regularly.

The discount is the only positive.

Review from Sales Dept

The discount is the only positive.

We have fun social hours, interactive team and employees

Nothing at all. Waste of time.

People on the associate level do work as a team and the store managers keep that functional and friendly.

Going out for a coffee with a coworker

All of the facility and learning

Everyone always pitches in to get things done.

Work from home is the best thing

Pride positive lots of lgbtq folks

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

The rating system needs to change

Value anyone other than upper management. listen to you employees. Invest in better websites and apps to allow for better consumer interface.

i need to get a new job, theres no saving this place

Review from Operations Dept

More pay!!! People need to mind their business, leave personal problems, at home. Work together more, & rotate management and leads.

A toxic work environment is created by the CEO and it trickles down to the stores.

A reality based payroll to accomplish the work loads.

clean up bulling by supervisors and managers

Pay the workers better and give better insurance benefits

Review from Operations Dept

value employees and practice fair business

Review from Sales Dept

Actually being able to serve the customer. The "policies" are stringent so as to NOT provide returns or refunds. Once they have the customer's money, their goal is to keep it. SO they have a list of "policies" to discourage the customer.

Review from Customer Support Dept

This company needs to VALUE their team, their associates and asst. managers were the ones comp'ing the store. The GM, DM, VP etc. are the ones that created the hostile work environment. They should pay a living wage and not be so obvious about the bonuses that they give themselves.

Communication, discipline and better leadership

Review from Operations Dept

I am usually quite happy with my job, but the issues with STELLA surveys and lack of insight by management are detrimental to associates.

Review from Customer Support Dept

THe business design needs to be simpler. WSI is a luxury business not a retailer like Walmart. They should care more about their customers.

Better management, training, lead by example, communication

Review from Sales Dept

Stop allowing customers to treat employees poorly. Something may be going wrong with their order but we should not be expected to give the customer more than what we make in a week. The nasty customers reviews should not impact our continued employment or pay.
