The bonus program is nice
Review from Operations Dept
The wage is satisfactory and the bonuses are helpful and appreciated.
Review from Operations Dept
The entire package is good and fair. it offers a lot of flexibility.
Review from Operations Dept
work life balance makes up for limits to pay and bonus
Review from Operations Dept
Good pay, seems competitive in the industry
Review from Marketing Dept
my base salary is higher than my previous employer
Review from HR Dept
The ability to work from home and work in approved states.
Review from Marketing Dept
The fact that our bonuses are guaranteed to pay out at 50%, regardless of company performance, is really great.
Review from HR Dept
I believe the pay, benefits and bonus structure are far better than at many other local tech companies.
Review from Marketing Dept
I have what should be given to everyone working. Dental, vision, medical, etc.
Review from Marketing Dept
Health Benefits are reasonably priced and provide good coverage
Review from Operations Dept
Stock/Bonus blend would be great, while we're performing.
Insurance options for the family
Review from Engineering Dept
The best part about my compensation package is that there has been meaningful expansion of the pay bands so my role is paid fairly to market (a few years ago this wasn't always the case).
Review from HR Dept
I like the equity package. It allows me to budget my monthly income since I can use those funds for retirement savings.
The pay itself is the best part
Review from Marketing Dept
Salary and benefits are on par with other employers.
Review from Operations Dept
That hard work will pay off
Base pay is the best part
Review from Operations Dept
it's fairly standard, there are no extras.
Review from Operations Dept
Starting salaries are low, and raises are just tiny. Benefits are good, but healthcare is so expensive. It's hard to get by on what Zulily pays me. Also, I have found internal promotion to be nigh-impossible for me. I'm always frustrated.
Review from Product Dept
At least getting paid 25 per hour and the company should pay for all of our healthcare. I am more depressed and anxious than i have ever been in my entire life and it’s due to the environment. It is demea
Being paid a livable wage. Being paid according to the amount of work I do. I consistently do more work than others on my team and I get paid the same as them. In yearly reviews I'm told this extra work is going towards my "development" and that's why I don't get paid more, but I want compensated.
Review from Marketing Dept
The assistant buyer role at Zulily is much more involved than a typical assistant buyer role so basing pay off market rates doesn't seem quite right. I also personally feel and have noticed several others becoming increasingly frustrated that we do so much but path to promotion/better pay is unclear
Review from Product Dept
Be paid more fairly based on the high-levels of production we are expected to do daily, as well as the amount of information and knowledge we are required to have across several teams. Folks working at similar businesses are paid far more and do far less.
Review from Marketing Dept
my annual increase for the past 3 years combined is still less than one year's inflation increase
Review from Marketing Dept
Nothing short of a wage increase would make me feel better. My team's salary is arbitrary and not in line with the rest of the industry. Inflation rose 8%, cost of living vastly increased, and yet our regular increases were not aligned with this. This is like having a pay reduction.
Matching industry standard would be a big step in the right direction. Our goals are above standard while our pay is below. These need to align more to help employees maintain a healthier, more productive balance.
Review from Marketing Dept
better pay for the workload we are expected to go, working over 12 hours a day but not getting fairly compensated
Review from Product Dept
I feel undervalued because the job role I accepted was positioned to me at a higher level (manager) than it is and was also given to me at a lower level than I applied for. The role I have is 2 levels below where I should be. Even with a promotion, I won't be at the level that represents my worth.
In terms of monetary compensation, I think Zulily does exactly what they say they're going to do. They make mid-market offers for the most part. Where I would love to see improvement is in our benefits, particularly PTO. I don't believe our policy is as competitive as it should be.
Review from HR Dept
I'm not rewarded for going above and beyond my peers. No incentive to perform better - I get the same annual raise regardless of performance. Even if I outperform in every measurable way, subjective excuses are made to justify a meager increase. This has been getting worse over my 6 years here.
Review from Marketing Dept
Expectation to work excessive hours chips away at an otherwise good salary.
Review from Marketing Dept
I was essentially given a substantial pay cut going from contractor to full-time, my role has been demoted and now with prices skyrocketing in the area I understand how others leave. I love this job and my team here and I really want Zulily to thrive. But even after the levelling, I feel underpaid.
Review from Marketing Dept
I've been doing senior-level work and my pay does not reflect the time and energy I've contributed. As someone who's been hired internally, I know my external partners are making more when I essentially am doing more work.
Review from Marketing Dept
The maternity leave policy is a disgrace compared to the industry and a company that "works for Mom".
Employees are asked to "prove" themselves for three months in a role before being promoted. In other words, do the work, but don't get paid.
Review from Product Dept
I have been told for years that my pay is comparable to market value. I do not believe this is the case and I have been underpaid because of being promoted internally. Someone who comes into the company at the same level should NEVER be paid more than I am especially with my experience.
we are trying to compete for top engineering talent in Seattle and are not willing to pay for it. most of my team could get $100-150K more at other local companies, and we've collected multiple data point to prove this.
Review from Engineering Dept
Why is a strange question. At any time I could make 25% more money at a number of other companies, with better benefits, and similar work-life balance. I choose to stay because of my direct leadership and how they're helping me grow.
