I feel that our HR department is way too afraid of some people's rights that they do not do their job properly. Techs that say and have no proof that they are allergic to refrigerant therefore they are exempt from doing work. Other techs who use their gender to get what they want. Unfair of HR.

That we can take time off whenever we need to. Our schedule allows us for that flexibility.

Fixing customer's electronic issues. Things fail all the time and we are here to fix them. It is satisfying specially when we fix something difficult.

Fixing appliances. Helping technicians do their job as a peer and as a mentor. Speaking with different customers can bring an exciting and unknown factor to my job that keeps it interesting.

We are our own boss. Our supervisor acts as sort of an auditor who comes in and checks to make sure we are doing what we need to do. This allows us the freedom to work at our own pace and stay within deadlines.

My direct supervisor used to be a technician. This is tremendously helpful since he has been in my shoes. Better yet he worked here as a tech. So he knows what to expect, what to help us with, and how to talk to us as humans not just numbers.

They all look out for each other. We have our backs, are always willing to help, and we have a good brotherhood going on. Our supervisor lets us rule ourselves for the most part and this creates a great atmosphere to do what we do best. And that is fix appliances.

Some techs make more than I do with far less experience than me. I know for a fact that one individual who just started in this field about 5 years ago is making almost as much as me. Not content she has requested a $4 more. If given she will make more with 10 yrs less experience and I am mentor!
