Co-workers, those within my department, are often poorly trained and rarely punished when they make errors. Co-workers outside my department are usually nice people. My role is a solitary one, working independently, and I enjoy that.

My department generates over $150,000,000 annually. That fact is indisputable. That information is clearly visible in daily reports. This revenue is produced by approximately just 275-300 people in the position. The current rate of pay for this position should be at least 10%-15% higher than it is.

My direct manager is accessible, flexible, and always works with me to allow me to do the best job possible. I couldn't ask for a better direct supervisor. And yet, I know they are dissatisfied and seeking to leave the company, because of the tyrannical micro-management of their direct supervisor.

Nothing is "going wrong." I like my job, and the work itself. I enjoy my job when I am performing it. However, I find it hard to believe anyone is "excited" to go to work. The best job in the world is not as good as not working. Everyone looks forward to retirement.
