I don't work directly for Allstate, but for an independent, captive agent. Working for an agent, I feel a little disconnected from Allstate as a whole... not really a part of the company, just someone who sells and services policies on behalf of the company. Not really familiar with the CEO at all.

My compensation is sub-par. People at fast food restaurants make more than I do, a "Licensed Sales Professional". Not sure why. No options or stock. No benefits.

Coworkers make the job worth it for me. Meetings always seem to be a waste of time (could have been handled in a fraction of the time via email)

Having control over situations when clients are angry. If they're angry at me for something claims or Allstate corporate did and can't understand there's nothing I can do, I become very frustrated.
