People aren't really micromanagers in my department.
I work crossfunctionally and am lucky to partner with people who care, who are responsive, and who are invested in effective collaboration.
I think that they are very forward thinking. They recognize that work is different today than it was 20 years ago and they are adapting quickly. I also really like their efforts to increase our diversity, which can be really hard to do in Utah.
I don't really like my job. If I were in a different position, I would feel differently. I like the people I work with. I feel like the stressors are typical for any company. But I wish I could be working in a different field. Makes it hard to be motivated.
I have a lot of extra side projects assigned to me that go beyond the typical scope for my pay grade, but no increased pay. When I talked to my manager about this, they said others have similar side projects as well. But those people are all paid at least $20k more than I am.
